Looking at the success of Wu Jacks, Berlin in Alpha and Heat in Zeta, (And the other teams being solid performers as well) I tend to keep an eye on the leagues below.

So far this season I have been VERY impressed with the tactics and depth of the following teams...

Western Europe AAA #1
(Alpha Conference)
Greenwood Alley Cats
Tottenham Trolls
Toledo Swords

(Zeta)
Brussels Cows
PPP Longnecks
Stockholm Meatballs

Western Europe AAA #2 (LOOKS MUCH THE BETTER LEAGUE)

(Zeta)
Antwerp Annihilators
Rivals Main Board Pimps
Manchester Mustangs
Cardiff Bluebirds

(Alpha)
Bielefeld Bulldogs
Plus about three more teams that are not quite there but might still boost and recruit.

And a big shout out to the Boondock Saints for a great turn around of a gutted team.

It is very likely that Zeta will get 2 Championship calibre teams next season, both expecting 10-6 or better.

Alpha MAY get lucky as there are a few teams that are not quite good enough that might get a flukey run in the play offs, but the likelihood is they get 2 teams at least able to go 10-6.

Am I the only one hoping for a few upsets?

That's a pretty good list. I like the Bulldogs and Annihilators out of AAA#2, and the Alleycats and PPP out of AAA#1.

No matter what teams get here, this league will get even better.

Strength-wise, the Pimps aren't any better or worse than the Annihilators. They should make the playoffs in the Pro league, but I think neither will be as dominant as the Heat. Posting-wise, they're harmless, as long as you don't feed the Trolls.

The real powers in AAA1 Zeta are Stockholm and Arkansas (surprised they didnīt make your list). PPP is very incosistent for some reason and the Cows, while having great depth and very high avg levels, seem to have some trouble with hteir builds. They have made major strides this season, but just from looking at their roster you would think that they should steamroll anyone in GLB.

Arkansas only started boosting 2 days ago and are still 11-4. They will be a foce when they get here, whether itīs next season or the one after.

Stockholm is not only the most consistently good team, their owner would be absolutely fantastic for our forums. Hereīs a sample of his work:

I think another question to add to this that will be, will the top 14 teams in the pro league ever be so dominant, as to completely knock out the two that move up each season right back into relegation?

Thats a great question Brett(will I retire or will I return)112289.

I dont think it will happen this season. (Lions and Nighthawks will have to improve dramatically in Alpha)

But Season 5 could be possible.

Stockholm really havent distinguished themselves from the rest of the names on my list, and I am not talking results, like the sad man I am I watch most of the games played by potential opponents as well as current ones, and the Meatballs are what they are and I see a few teams in Zeta Pro that have really favourable match ups against their style of play, and squad strength/Depth.

I still think they are about 10-6 with a 2 game margin, so I am not saying they suck by any means.

Razorbacks, I was considering them, I get that they are going to be stronger in the Play Offs than they were in the season, and their Owner is solid, but again they are exposed to a certain type of play, and it shows against good teams.

If they make the adjustments that they need to they might factor into the equation, and thats a possibility, but I put them around the level of Dragons in Alpha.

I just think that the Style of play over in Zeta is a bad match up for them, they would do better in Alpha funnily enough.

but you know someone is going to feed the trolls. I think the top 5 in that conference all have a shot but the pimps and annihilators are the favorites so far yea. and is this the season where Bluefield finally comes thru from alpha?

A little yeah.

Its all breed out of history though.

Zeta started out with more Pass first teams (And a few Pass only teams) and because of the amount of bad teams in that league, it generally worked.

Alpha had a few pass first teams, but had a lot more solid Defenses (Sorry but it did then)
The pass happy teams got beat consistently.

Zeta teams followed what other teams did to beat opponents and slowly the pass was accounting for about 70% of most teams offense, except for a few notable and successful exceptions.

Alpha teams realised that they needed to find a balance or they had no chance, so the passing game dropped to about 60%.

This had a big impact on the Defenses as well.

Zeta teams realised that they need to put up higher points to win so they got caught up in a cycle.
Alpha realised that they needed to kept teams from scoring as well.

From there it follows the pattern we see in the NFL.

The league and your opponents almost defines how you grow as a team.

How many teams in the NFL go out to get a FA or Rookie to beat one team a season?
(Jacksonville this year stands out)

Anyway, the differences are being dilluted by new teams entering the league of course, but if you watch all the games play by play, and then compare the teams in each league, it is noticably different.

Dont forget about the Portland Rage in AAA #1 Alpha.

We wanna go back home!

We were relegated from WEPL after a 1-14-1 finish in season 1. I took over with one game to play that season. We went on to second round of playoffs last season and lost to Toledo.

Were more of a dark horse this year. Toledo and Greenwood both are very good ball clubs, and I can understand why we were overlooked.

Rage picked up a good win last game out, and if they can manage to work out how they did it they might make it onto the list

The Rage have the greatest linebacker in the history of fake football.

I won't say who, but his name rhymes with "James Henry"
