I got a good roll (would like to have agl and tackling switched, but it's the best I got for about an hour of hitting "Re-Roll") and am training his str on intense for 2 nights. Then I will train Stam. I'm not boosting this season. I will wait until level 3 and then pour all SP's into STR to hit the soft cap.

Would love to hear any more suggestions and where to go after that.

Also, should I go ahead and buy equip and put it all into STR, or wait?

Ewwwwwwww @ training on Intense. Biggest waste of money EVER. ALWAYS relaxed.

Yes, equip into STR.

Get STR up to 48, then Agility. Then get Speed up to 30, then STR up to 60, then AGI up to 60, then STR up...well, you get the idea. DTs don't need a whole lot of speed, 30 should last you a LONG, LONNNNG time.

Yeah, but only for 2 days. 2 days worth will get me to the soft cap by level 3. After two days then it's back to normal.

Why not Relaxed for 3 days? It saves you 370 dollars.

Money can always be earned, but time cannot.....

Or something like that

I mean it's $370, that's nothing.

Besides, intense at level 1 is $200 a day.

$370 is about 15% of one of your level 8 equipment upgrades.

It's not much, but not much adds up to much quickly.

Why are you in such a rush?

Because it's one more day of stamina training, or something else I can train. I don't think training on extreme for two days at level 1 is that big of a deal.

Also, I'm set to play on relaxed. Good idea with the low stamina and D-league for now?

edit: and it's actually $250 difference for the two days, not $370.

Train on intense at the low levels. Most teams if they are worth playing for will pay the 10k for 8th level upgrades.

co-sign. I feel that early on the points differences can be significant. I think it helps if you establish a player development plan and training schedule. In other words, decide on what you are going to put skill points into and what you aren't. Also decide what you'll train and what you won't. Don't waste a single point or training day. For instance, most will not put skill points into blocking, but will train it here and there. I try to get the most bang for my buck when it comes to training. I don't train my two or three highest attribute because the factional increase can be a lot less than if training my secondary skills...which are still very important.

What are you going to be? A NT, DT, Pass Rusher, Run Stuffer, Balanced? This makes all the difference in the world. I think that for pass rushers, you need enough strength to keep from getting pancaked, but after that, agility becomes the primary attribute to get off the block and around the blocker.

As far as equipment goes, a lot of DTs have put most of their equipment skills into strength. Whatever your primary 1 or 2 abilities are (e.g the attributes you are going to softcap first), those are the ones I would focus on.

Lastly, from what has been said quite a bit lately, apparently the 'single attribute' players are going to become less dominant (Eg speed players) and also agility is going to become even more important for reaching maximum speed. So, I would factor those two things into my build.

I could be completely off, but that is how I look at it.

buy equip for stamina...you can reallocate it at level 8, or later, back to strength. i like the training sched.

and yes, i agree that training on intense is a good option in lower levels. when looking at this, what's important is not the cost of training on intense, but the spread btwn normal-intense.

I always train on intense at level 1. It's only $200 and you make more than that a day. The extra 0.06 or so can add up.

Thanks for the tips. I plan on being a balanced DT I guess. I was going the high STR route with AGL to follow and some speed thrown in for good measure. 30 speed was my goal as well, so good to see I'm thinking along the same lines.

even as run stuffer i think you want that agility up fast to fight off blocks... u need str to avoid the pancake like they said but agility will get u that tackle... i dont have a DT-- going from effective player builds some teammates have had ... and not had

I have a build saved from a teammate that has a very effective DT, and he has pretty high AGL, but not as much as STR. at level 13 he's 60 STR and 51 AGL, so that's what I'm shooting for.

No matter if it's the 3 technique or the nose, you must have strength and agility.
