LVL 18 6'3 264 trying to make a RDE speed rusher build. Currently training Vision.

Strength: 50.5 Blocking: 13.4
Speed: 44.5 Tackling: 28.5
Agility: 52.5 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 13.4 Catching: 10
Stamina: 33.07 Carrying: 7
Vision: 24.37 Kicking: 10
Confidence: 21.7 Punting: 10

SA Trees
0-0-0-0-0
4-3-3-3-3

I play in the S. American Pro league, where I'm usually matched up against LOT in the 21-24 Range. I've gotten 6 hurries and 3 sacks only. I'm probably going to level up one more time this season and boost before next season. Advice?

Forget about strength. Never put points into big sack again.

Get speed up to 48+ base and then stack all equipment into it. Train vision to 30ish and then SP it up to 48. Stack shed block and tunnel vision SAs.

first off, dont forget about strength. Theres no difference between a DE and an LB if you forget about strength. As you stand, you're a little on the weaker side, 55-60 strenth with a soft cap in agility should be good. Equipment should be going into str. and agility. Lay off the SA's past shed block.

I don't know all that much about DE, but there might be some truth to it. His DE is pretty beastly from looking at his stats. Kinda makes me want to try my hand at making a RDE.

You're obviously successful with your build, but I've had a fair amount of success with mine. If you disagree with me, I'd appreciate if you would be so kind as to let me know why. (either through PM or here)

Thanks. Of course a lot of my sack/hurry production comes against slightly weaker competition but whose doesn't? I feel like I have a lot of production against equal/higher level OTs compared to many strength based DEs. I'm just trying to give a different perspective than many people on this board.

Here's an RDE in my league who has done pretty well for himself http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=28501 (admittedly not all of his sacks are against the best competition, but still).

Because it doesn't matter what type of DE you're making. Agility is always the most important thing. Plus 48 vision? Shit my CB isn't even at that.

Kind of what I am doing with my FS. Started off wanting to be hard hitting, then I decided balanced, now I'm heading back towards hard hitting. It will probably be another season before I am near where I want to be. Safeties are a bitch to build.

I've never made a safety but I'd say they are one of the harder builds if not the hardest.

I think that vision has become the most overrated stat for D-Linemen...
I dont have a DE but a player on one of my teams has the base vision, and confidence and has 25+ sacks in Oceania AAA

That depends on the build. I have the base strength but I wouldn't say it's overrated as a lot of people are very successful with it.
