West
1. Honolulu Beach Boys
They are the #1 team in the West and it's hard to argue against that. With the Bugeaters gone they have looked more like Tecmo by steamrolling teams including the #2 team Thunder. These guys do have a semi hard game this week as they take on the Plague but other then that all signs point towards a 16-0 regular season.
2. Timpanogos Thunder
If you thought the Thunder would be as good as they are now then you are clearly lying. These guys have had only a few tight games and even in those they found a way to win. All I can say is these guys will be looking to knock off the Bugeaters in the promotion game for the Western conference championship. Oh and take a look at their next few challenging games. Lancers, Aces, Crow and then the Mighty Sabres.
3. Tana River Ewoks
Man the Ewoks you simply have to like this team. They are a bit like the Thunder as they have came out of nowhere and became a dominant force in the league. I will be rooting them on in the playoffs(as my team can barely beat the Crow) because I like their owner and they have a good squad. Unfortunately for them their schedule gets harder in the next 2 games and it will be a war for them to hold on to the 3 spot. Their first test is this week with a matchup with the Long Beach Dub All Stars.
4. Mighty Chihuahuas
This new team has faired well in the league and has been solid all year long. If you look at their games you will notice how they easily won games they were supposed to and kept the games with the Thunder and Ewoks closer then you would think. All I can say is this team next year could very well win the West. But for now they have 2 huge games with the All Stars and Express that will be enormous in deciding the playoff seeds in the West. This week should be easy for them though as they get the Toxins.
5. Possum Trot Plague
This team has been pretty interesting this year. They have not had a big blemish yet except for a slip up against the unranked SLUGs. They are going to most likely add another loss this week though as they have to go play in Honolulu. The week after is going to be even more important though as they are playing the Inferno for what could be the last spot in the playoffs.
6. Los Angeles Express
Well this team has also been a shock but not exactly in a good way. The 3rd best team last year has found themselves in a 3 way tie for 5th and are now in a stretch of 3 games that will decide if they get in the playoffs or not. If all this unboosting talk is true they better boost right now because they have 3 staaraight games against Western conference playoffs teams and then 1 against a solid Eastern Vulcan team. Oh an did I mention they play the SLUGs this week in a game that ultimately decides everything in the West. Good luck with your hard schedule Express.
7. Long Beach Dub All-Stars
Wow another good team here but it will be an all out war these next two weeks as they play 2 teams in the top 4 tier. These guys could potentially lose 3 games so they are on the bubble and need a good showing to get in.
8. Chicago Inferno
I know you are probably thinking WTF why aren't the SLUGs ranked here. Well the real reason is I just believe the Inferno are a better team. Plus they have 3 guarenteed wins and a winnable game against the Plague that could decide their playoff future. They need help from the SLUGs as the SLUGs get the tiebreaker. Bottom line is these guys need to win out and I think they will.
East
1. Tecmo All Stars
Bad news came this morning as we now know this team is retiring after this year. Unconquered would not want anything short of a championship and i really don't see why this team couldn't get one. These guys have a semi-hard game this week vs. the Pigeons and then have the pre season game of the year against Awsomeville. All they have to do is win won of these two games and they win the East. Good luck Tecmo.
2. New Jersey Blaze
All I can say here is wow. These guys have been the biggest surprise of the year and have locked up the 2 seed with their soft remaining schedule. These guys also have the biggest inter conference game with the SLUGs because it may decide who gets the last playoff spot in the West.
3. Saint Paul Vulcans
This team is a great one and has been on their game as of late. They are ranked ahead of the Bearphins simply because they have been the more impressive team. That will all be decided in 2 weeks though when the 2 teams square off. Watch out for these guys though as their chemistry is all the way to 100 and that might be enough to knock off Tecmo in the playoffs.
4. Awesomeville Bearphins
A really likable team and a good one to. They currently hold the 3 seed but future games against the Vulcans and Tecmo may change that. I know Bearphin really wants to focus on that week 15 game with Tecmo but the Saint Paul game may be bigger because if the Bearphins lose that game they may be forced to play Tecmo in the 2nd round. Bottom line is these guys can not afford 2 more losses if they want to win the championship.
