R=Reporter
MC= Mason Crosby

R: So Mason... Hows the USA BB league treating you.
MC: I really cant complain. Ive always wanted to be where Im standing at right now. Ive seen this moment in my minds eye since I was playing soccer in grammar school. Theres a lot of people I had to beat to ket where I am and everything Ive ever done has put me here.
R: Your first game this season I thought you would be a perfect kicker. You started out hitting everything through the uprights but then after that it seems like youve struggled.
MC: I think I got over-confident. I tend to do so. Its my competitive side in me and I think I was trying to out-do my last kick so hard that it caught up to me. I feel like now Im back on track where I should be.
R: Tell me about your game against the Highlanders. They had blown out so many teams before you. Were you nervous going in?
MC: I think it was an even matchup. We had heard there was something going on over in Chicago about a scandel. We didnt let that play into the game. I have to say, Im just the kicker. I dont deserve all the glory. If anything I would say our QB Erik Perez and Tobin Clark deserve credit for getting me in the range.
R: You guys came out guns blazing and you nailed a 30 yard FG. Were you nervous going into that kick?
MC: It wasnt that I was nervous but I knew the Highlanders were a great team and I felt like I couldnt miss anything in this game.
R: You did miss an extra point in that game. After you missed that point how were you feeling?
MC: Nautious. Thats the first one Ive missed in my life. To miss such an easy kick is inconcievable and inexcusable. All I can say is I lost focus. There were so many turnovers in that game and I didnt want to be the one to blow it.
R: The team made a nice 2 minute drill to score a TD and you had to kick the extra point to tie it up. Any concerns?
MC: Im always concerned about the game. Walking into a kickoff Im concerned. Like I said its not that Im nervous but I dont want to blow any games. Extra points are a cake walk as long as you leave out my missed one.
R: The game went to overtime and if you would have made that point it would have been settled then and there. Did you feel like it was your fault?
MC: This is a team sport. Yes I feel like I didnt do my job to the best of my abilities but both teams miss opportunities. Heck even the pros miss opportunities.
R: The final kick of the game in overtime. Your team got you all the way into probobly where your maximum range is. Youve hit longer before but I think its safe to say 40 is just outside your comfort zone.
MC: Well I think that kick was going to determine how many freinds I had on the team. If I missed it I doubt anybody would be sitting next to me on the next plane ride to an away game. You know... Sometimes you just gotta go and give it your best and thats what I did. Kicks like that come around not so often and to get a chance to hit a game winner against arguably the best team in the league, thats something I cant pass up. The missed point... Yeah it was a big miss but players are defined by what they do after there mistakes. I think Ive defined myself.
R: Thanks Mason. Nice meeting you.
MC: Thanyou sir. I guess Ill see after my next overtime kick.
