Forum > Goal Line Blitz > Optimal training/point spending schedule?
Link

Hey guys, getting back into the game and I found this one post explaining the optimal way to spend your points and when to train to maximize builds....But now I can't seem to find it.

He explained how you should put points into your main attribute until the 3rd cap, then train your 2nd skill or something like that.

Does anyone have that post by any chance? Or if you wouldn't mind giving me and some of the new players a quick rundown?

I'd hate to ruin my dots by accidentally spending skill points in the non-optimal way. Everyone at my level already has a higher effective level than me so I'm probably doing something wrong already

It's probably not exactly what you are looking for, but these are the guides and builds that I use for my dots. Granted, there are some tweaks here and there that are "secrets" but ultimately this information should steer you in the right direction.

sweet, that's really helpful thanks man.

So basically don't spend any skill points until the offseason once you get your main skill to the #3 cap.

Fwiw slughead made interactive spread sheets that show the same information

I saw people bemoaning that document getting vanished from the interwebs and thought, hey, I could re-do those! And it turns out, yeah, I did, although it was much less straightforward than I thought it would be.

So, here's some links. They're all Google Sheets (spreadsheets), you should be able to view them but not edit them, but if you save your own copy either as a Google Sheet or Excel or whatever, you should be able to play around with them however you'd like.

Caveats: I spot checked these quite a bit, and I think that all the values are precisely what the GLB website gives under the same conditions, but if anyone finds discrepancies or problems or if I completely whiffed on something somewhere, PLEASE pm me and let me know.

There are 2 graphs in each sheet for Light, Normal, Intense, and 4X Multi, the first graph is the way the old one was done, just the SP value per train, but the second graph adds in the actual SP value (as in the actual BT gained/15) to each training level. This becomes more interesting in the final graph I will link, which shows that Total SP gained per train for each training type (at 20% enhanced training level for each one, I thought that the best compromise) together on the same graph. I find it interesting, hopefully others might as well.

I'm not sure why I'm driven to do projects like this, I'm sorry.

I don't think that's right, you basically want to take your dot to the next soft cap ASAP because auto level gains get more valuable the higher an attribute is.

ALGs increase an attribute when you level up by a flat amount - so you want to "rush" your primary attribute by end of season 1 to the 85-88 range to let ALGs take over.

If you leave it your entire first season after you hit the 49 cap, you are missing out on like 20 levels of optimised ALGs.

Ok I think I get it. So spend every skill point as soon as you get it on the #1 skill until 85ish. Meanwhile multi training your 4 main skills

Almost - but hold the skill points until you can hit one of the cap points in that chart Dr. E posted, if you want to optimize.

Just like you cap at 49, you want to try to get your stat trained at the low points in the cap (49-53 or so), then dump in SP to get it to 60.52+, then train at the low part there (61-63 or so), then dump SP again to get to 67.98+, etc.

Those trains even though at a lower percentage, are actually higher value, because the 'cap' you're in multiplies the value.
So 54% train in 1st cap (up to 49) =
27% train in 2nd cap (up to 61) =
18% train in 3rd cap (up to 68), and so on. Because adding a point in that same cap costs, 1, 2, 3, etc.

Adding those SP immediately, will lower the value of the stat you're training in most cases, due to diminished returns.

Makes sense, thank you! Didn't consider the training %'s getting lower
