Why does this game have an incredibly low interception rate? Through 10 games there are only 3 interceptions in the entire league. Seems a little unrealistic.

Thanks. I checked the upper leagues and they are much higher. I did not take that into consideration.

You are welcome. When I have a team in Rookie I go against the grain and pass more than run. Everybody runs outside because there is little to stop it. I prefer running between the tackles and quick pops outside or across the middle in the passing game.

Don't build to try interceptions. The rate for shut down and intercepting CBs is negligible, especially when playing quality teams.

this is not true
https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/league.pl?league_id=280
more interceptions than TD's
even intercepting LB's work

A good shutdown CB will have about the same number of interceptions and will give up far fewer receptions.

Go back to the stats during the games heyday. You will find an int build will only have two or three more int than a shutdown. He will also of given up more receptions in failed int attempts than the shutdown and as we have all seen, those often end up a TD.

I don't want to wade TOO deep into this, but... the "meta" has changed quite a bit since the game's heyday. Teams run more and pass less, and teams are also changing HOW the pass... I see screens used a bit more now, and since screens are interception-proof, that can skew the interception numbers down.
Also, nobody should be looking at just the cold total of interceptions anyway. The correct stat should be interceptions-per-pass-attempt... and even then, for a TRULY accurate number you'd need to subtract screens out of the pass-attempt number.
Personally, my defensive preference is to take a low-risk approach, so I prefer to focus on reflections rather than interceptions. So does my team's DC, and we usually have one of the top defenses in our league each season. But I've also seen other teams go for more INTs and do VERY well on defense, so it's possible to build a great defense that goes for interceptions.
Now forcing fumbles... THAT'S a bit more difficult.
But that's for another thread.

only 1 team in WL has more TD passes than interceptions, and a 2nd is tied - TD's and picks
can't really look at other leagues because of so many bad / CPU teams
