Sadly, while I can share links, I can't view them here (at home). I live WAY out in the boonies with one sporadic cell tower that drops you depending on where you happen to be at that moment... no fiber optic phone lines... and no cable which means if you want to TRY satellite reception then you pay almost double because they have no competition out here and they know it (tagging on extra fees for maintenance, service, ect, ect, ect.) This means old school dial up on old phone lines... which means loading a link like those takes the better part of a day... if it even allows it to load before cutting out... which is that happens 98% of the time anyways.
We have our fingers crossed as many of our neighboring states are legislating fiber optic for all people and hoping that puts pressure on our own legislators to get with the damn program.

Inconvenient for sure. Loved the response when I called the phone company and asked them when we were going to get fiber optic lines out here after lightning nearly destroyed the old lines underground. Their response? "If we had more internet customers on the line we would seriously consider it."
My thought? "So lemme get this straight. You want us to pay more (their internet service is more expensive than even Satellite is) for a ISP that would still be using the exact same old lines, therefore the same problems would exist, for a >chance< you >might< put in fiber optic lines??? Sure. I'll just convince the 20 or so people along this old road that that's an awesome idea."
My neighbor would shoot me.
