The Major / Minor attributes are the same, no matter the position. Aside from slight differences in minimum/maximum height & weight, there isn't much difference there either. The biggest difference that I see is the exchange of Return Specialist (on the CB) for First Step (on the HB/WR) on the SA tree.

For those who have a preference for one position (CB / HB / WR) over another...why?

Cornerback

Returner
A returner focuses his game on returning kicks and punts. He is fast and agile, has good stamina, and tends to be good at holding on to the ball. He does not break many tackles, but with good blocking he can find the hole and speed past the coverage team. He can play defense as well, but he will have tend to have difficulty making plays on the ball.
5'8" - 6'2", 170-210 Lbs
Major Attributes: Agility, Carrying, Speed, Stamina, Vision (+.4)
Minor Attributes: Confidence, Jumping, Strength(+.33)
Favored Special Abilities: Change Direction, Return Specialist
Penalized Special Abilities: Superior Vision, Shutdown Coverage

Halfback

Returner
A returner focuses his game on returning kicks and punts. He is fast and agile, has good stamina, and tends to be good at holding on to the ball. He does not break many tackles, but with good blocking he can find the hole and speed past the coverage team. He can play offense as well, but he will have difficulty catching passes and running between the tackles.
5'6" - 6'0", 180-220 Lbs
Major Attributes: Agility, Carrying, Speed, Stamina, Vision (+.4)
Minor Attributes: Confidence, Jumping, Strength (+.33)
Favored Special Abilities: First Step, Quick Cut
Penalized Special Abilities: Stiff Arm, Power Through

Wide Receiver

Returner
A Returner focuses his game on returning kicks and punts. He is fast and agile, has good stamina, and tends to be good at holding on to the ball. He does not break many tackles, but with good blocking he can find the hole and speed past the coverage team. He can play offense as well, but he will tend to have difficulty catching passes.
5'8" - 6'2", 175-215 Lbs
Major Attributes: Agility, Carrying, Speed, Stamina, Vision (+.4)
Minor Attributes: Confidence, Jumping, Strength (+.33)
Favored Special Abilities: First Step, Quick Cut
Penalized Special Abilities: Route Running, Sticky Hands

CB is cheaper that's why.

cheaper doesnt mean better, The HB has better SA's for a returner than the CB does.. for example, the CB hAS blitz and closing speed for SA's. What good do those do for a returner?

I prefer to add Spin as an extra SA to a CB and go with that but that's me. Paying less at this state of the game is good imo. Still I agree that HB archetype is better but I refuse to pay 300 flex for a returner.

Do you see spin fire a lot on kr/pr?

you should also remember what happens at high levels... i.e. return men are no longer fun.

You should look at a rushing FB. Best blend of SAs, cost, and most importantly anti-fumble ability

if your goal is mvp, then cb seems to get an advantage over hb

And he'd tell you to get the following; Pick up Returner as his extra SA when you first build. Make sure you get at LEAST 2 (3 is better) BT AEQ pieces. As for the 4th AEQ, get your spin there if you really want it... although Hurdle is also very good.

Any breakdown between Punt/Kick return? Does any do one better over the other?
I can say I seen Hurdle early so would guess it fire more often.

Halfback

Elusive Back
An elusive back uses speed and agility to avoid defenders. He tries to avoid contact at all costs, because he is not particularly strong and will not break a lot of tackles. Abilities like Head Fake and Juke are the foundation of his game, and he runs best outside where he can break down defenders in the open field.
5'6" - 6'2", 180-220 Lbs
Major Attributes: Agility, Carrying, Speed, Vision (+.5)
Minor Attributes: Catching, Confidence, Stamina, Strength (+.25)
Favored Special Abilities: Head Fake, Juke
Penalized Special Abilities: Lower the Shoulder, Power Through

Can definitely see where the Elusive HB has benefits. Only four Major Attributes as opposed to five on the return archetype guys, plus the added benefit of Head Fake & Juke Special Abilities.

Fullback

Rusher
A rusher fullback focuses his game on offense. He is a powerful rusher, able to pick up difficult yards and break tackles frequently. He is not a reliable receiver, often dropping passes. His lead blocking ability is also lacking. A rusher FB can also competently play as a power HB for teams needing depth.
5'10" - 6'3", 230-250 Lbs
Major Attributes: Agility, Carrying, Confidence, Strength (+.5)
Minor Attributes: Blocking, Speed, Stamina, Vision (+.25)
Favored Special Abilities: Power Through, Quick Cut
Penalized Special Abilities: Lead Block, Pancake

Has anyone else had success with a FB as a returner? Not sure how I feel about Speed being a Minor and he sacrifices Jumping for Blocking...

The consensus seems to be that Spin > Juke. Would most also argue that Hurdle > Spin?
