Bought a team to start up next season, and cannot find anywhere to extend my ownership, and the drop down for the requested league next season is not there any longer.

Any ideas on where I need to look for ownership extension, and how to request a demotion back to rookie after the season?

Think demotion request don't become available until like day 26 or something

New league request option should be on your team's homepage now.

Or you could buy another team and then sell back the one you currently own.
