Tons of way worse games banking on this.

From what I've gathered (and based on the headaches of the iPhone app a few years back), it sounds like it would be way easier to create several new app games from scratch than to make an app that's tied to GLB1.
I might be way off there, but either way we're not currently developing new stuff for GLB1 (including an app) so an Android app would be NGTH for now.

Yeah, well, if you want people playing, that's the only way to go. No advertising needed, minimal time and effort invested. Even if the "app" just links directly to the site, it's possible. You could at least build a GUI that you can use to update training etc. Guaranteed boost to player base. Hell, as far as replays, just have it link to the browser that everyone already uses on their phone to view if it can't be added or viewed in the app.

We do want people playing our games. And GLB1 is not our only game. I think you might be underestimating the time and effort required in a project like this, and overestimating the potential benefit. (The app market is already pretty thoroughly flooded, and I would disagree that there's such a thing as a guaranteed boost to a game's player base.)
Either way, as has been mentioned before, we're not currently making updates to GLB1. That means we're not planning on creating any GLB1 apps at this time.
