I wont get a reply from the bug team or anyone so posting here incase someone has seen this and found a fix. It seems like no matter what I try it seems to keep playing a certain LB in the MLB spot even if he isnt in that spot on the depth chart.

I have him as the starter in every LB1 slot. Basically he rarely ever is in there in passing situations and never on 3rd down unless i have him blitzing. Well somehow he keeps getting put in there in almost every situation and play. I cant seem to get it to stop. Same thing happened to me with a different team 2 seasons ago. With this team though nothing has changed. Same Def Depth chart, only added the new guys on it. Same DAI im using. So not sure whats going on. Its not EVERY time but its alot and can end up hurting us.

Are you suuuuure you checked? I see a lot of MLB1 in there, and storm grimes is the guy in MLB1.

yes im suuuuure. Thats the point of this thread. The regular MLB slot is suppsed to be there. I wont give a random access. Actually I dont own the team so couldnt give access anyway. But ill take some screenshots.

It looks like that in every situation he is out there when he isnt supposed to be.

That's how that override depth chart screen works. No matter what you have set in your DAI, if you have an alternate (like MLB1) listed for a defensive formation on that screen, then it will always override the setting on your DAI.

Check what base formation one of the plays that is giving you trouble is, in the drop down box on the custom play itself. If the formation matches one of the types that have MLB1 listed on your depth chart override screen, then that is what is going wrong.

umm huh?

Thing that is weird is its saved to MY DAI and to MY PLAYS. And no one has access to it. Now all the sudden its giving me errors. The errors didnt start til day 43 when all the new guys signed. DAI and everything worked fine last season and the 15 seasons before it for around 100 teams atleast.

Without looking, have you checked to make sure that the guys you think should be playing the MLB spot aren't filling other spots on D? If there is nobody left on the listed depth chart to fill the positions (i.e. they are playing elsewhere on the field), then it just pulls the guy it thinks would be best based on who knows what (attributes, position, energy). This is how you see things like FS playing HB in the goalline set, if you don't have enough TEs listed (FB -> TE, HB -> FB, FS/CB --> HB).

I thought that so I put every single LB but him at MLB to prevent that but that didnt work. And I force starts so there is plays where there is just MLB(no other LBers) and its 3rd down. And he still gets thrown out there when he isnt supposed to. It just sucks cause he is built to blitz so he F'N sucks at pas defense and has like no vision, anytime he mans up with a HB or Fb he gets faked every time. And gives up a pass 99% of the time targeted.

Every custom created defensive play is based on a formation that you pick from the drop down box on the play creation screen: 4-3, 3-4, Dime, Quarter, etc.

There are 4 formations in the screenshot that alindyl posted for the team you're referencing that have MLB1 listed as being chosen.

That means that every play that is based on one of those 4 formations will have the MLB1 forced onto the field when it is run for that team. It doesn't matter if it's in your personal AI section, using custom plays that are in your personal section, or whatever. It will override the setting on whatever DAI is running.

But without access, it's impossible for anyone to diagnose to a certainty, so, godspeed, I guess.

well, you do have a bunch of MLB1 in there... change that to MLB and then see if it solves your problem

The depth chart formation overrides will trump any package or AI depth chart slots you have, so even if your package says MLB, it will pull MLB1 for that specific formation. I can guarantee you 100% this will fix your problem
