Welcome to S41 everybody! I'll do my best to put out more regular rankings this year as my schedule is finally starting to slow down. For those that know my rankings, these are based on regular season games. Preseason, tournaments and scrims play no role in my rankings.
#1. Chicago 85' Bears - Given Gerr's track record, I do not see how I could put him anywhere else but the top. Gerr did have a pretty easy win in week 1. It looks to me that the Bears' early season schedule is a bit easier than the second half so I expect a very nice record coming into the next half of the season.
#2. Fighting Gamecocks - Jkid seems to be doing his best to assemble an all-star staff. Short of adding Gerr, I am not really sure how this staff could get much better. FGC has possibly the easiest first half schedule of all and should start out 8-0.
#3. All Pro Falcons - I'm not convinced that A.I. is dedicated to this All Pro squad given his commitment to FGC, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here. A.I. is one of the better coordinators in PW and I consider him to be an excellent defensive mind. I expect great results in the West.
#4. Crib Midgets - We were all shocked when Crib got ousted in round 1 by Miami, but I think that is a motivator for this season. Jkid will put out a great defense and I expect some improvements on offense. This will be a solid team, but in a brutal conference.
#5. Subversive Education - With All Pro being out of the East, Subversive has a clear path to the 3rd seed. Subversive's schedule sets up perfectly for a no/no team with the toughest games later. Itsply will have a solid year if committed.
#6. Ultimate Underdogz - Slybert had a very solid team in his last run in PWG and I expect something very similar in S41. I think this is a top #4 seed in the West and I expect another outstanding defense from this crew. If they can score, they can beat anybody.
#7. Epic Holiday - They were a real disappointment for me last year. I expected that coordinating duo to get better, not worse. I'm not sure if S40's struggles were due to a lack of focus or what, but early in the season I'm going to side with them and put them fairly high in the ranking.
#8. 99 Problems - If you didn't think this would be a good team, you were not paying attention to their coordinators. This is the same crew that won PWG in S38. I put them at #8 due to the fact that they took a year off and they are seeming to go no boost early, but this could be a very good team.
#9. Lone Star Mercenaries - I am typically very cautious to put teams in the ranking so early that do not have recent PWG experience, but this team was pretty solid in PWS last year and have some respected coordinators. We will see!
#10. Szolnok Soldiers Junior - Say what you want about this team, but they play fantastic defense. They held All Pro to 17 points in last season's playoff game. If by some miracle, Szolnok can have a good offense...... Watch out!
