By using Packages. I'm going to try and find something I posted a little while back on Packages to see if it'll help you here.

I don't really use Presets, so I can't help you out there, but glancing at it, it pretty much looks like Basic Energy settings.

In PeeWee/Regular Leagues (non-Casual), Custom Slots work with Packages. You shouldn't need a defined preset. Assuming you know what a Package is, you'll see when you go to set-up one, for example:

Now, in the top-right is where those custom slots come into play. Say you have a Scat HB, an Elusive HB, and a Power HB. If you put them all under the regular "RB" slot in the Depth Chart, depending on energy settings, you'll have your Power HB in for plays that you want your Elusive HB running, and vice versa. However, if you put your Elusive HB in the RB slot and your Power HB in the RB2 slot, you can have them run specific plays.

Say you're setting up a Package to run the ball on 3rd and Short. You want your Power HB running it. If you have your Power HB in the RB2 slot, you're going to open up the drop-down menu shown above, and choose RB2. Now, if your Power HB is in the RB2 slot, any Selected Plays in that Package will use your Power HB (or RB2).

Sorry if this was hard to follow, if someone else could explain it better feel free, or if you want me to try to explain better just ask and I'll try.

Your playbook determines what plays can be called in your offense. So in your "Playcalling AI" you can select what plays you want to be called with each Input you put in your AI. So for starters you have a 1st Down Input; you will then add Outputs to determine what plays will be called and at what frequency you hope to have that play called.

Inside the Output you can select specific plays that are in your Playbook to be called. Using the Select Personnel Modifications and your Depth Chart, you can select specific players to be in for that play. Say you have a Rushing QB and on the Depth Chart he is at QB1, you would select QB1 on the Output to make sure he is in for that play.

Bag o Chips showed you how packages work and those plays you can select for those packages are plays from your Playbook. Inside the Output in your AI you can select that package to be called for that Input.

Just to be clear on something, your Playbook only matters if you are not using packages or specific plays. In the Output there is an option for you to call Play Type and you can select Formation, Distance, Rusher... This is where the AI will choose a play from your Playbook for you at random using those options you choose. If you are calling specific plays for your entire offense, you want to have all the plays available from your Playbook to choose from.
