Dear Bort,

I would like to know the reasoning behind GLB2. It makes no sense to the common man and I am indeed a common man.

Under what pretense did the powers that be, decide that GLB 2 was a good option? I mean there are so many more 'American sports' that you could have chose, and yet you choose a direct competitor to your own business. YES it's a direct competitor, Yes i realise that both games put $$'s in your bank account. But surely you could improve revenue by branching outside of football.

Now before all the haters get on here and start posting GLB2 is s**t or that GLB 'classic' is s**t. I'd just like to say that this is supposed to be a legitimate point. A question that so many people are asking, yet we get no answers.

This is a legitimate 'please explain' to administration, I don't see the marketing/economic ideas behind this. The only reasoning I have is that you are planning on deleting GLB 'classic'. Calling it 'classic' is BS just for the record. It's GLB1.

Does KFC have a secondary chicken franchise?

Does Pizza Hut contribute to some other pizza chain?

F**k, do the Yankees support some other MLB team?

I just don't understand, and I'm not the only one if you read the forums. Your customers want to know what is going on at the moment.

I would like to reiterate that I'm not bagging out GLB 2 or GLB 1. I would just like more knowledge on the decisions made here. Yes this will probably be locked, but seriously...seriously there is an issue here that needs to be addressed.

Ezra? Is that really you? For the Record - I play both right now. But, I see no point in GLB2. I can play casual on GLB1.

I believe its his business and can do what he likes with his own cash. Just like we can, we have the right of choice.
I don't like glb2 personally, but there are folks that do, that's their choice.

A big part of the problem is the "pissy" attitude Admins have when someone dares to criticize GLB2.

I tried it. Made a lot of players. coached a lot of teams. It sucked.

Should we mention new Coke and Cole Classic here....anyone remember which on lasted?

That said, there are some redeeming qualities to GLB2, its just a shame they weren't just implemented here in GLB like a lot of us asked.

It was stupid. We all agree on that, but it's done and there's no point discussing it because they aren't shutting down GLB2. If anything, convincing them that two football games hurt each other would only encourage them to dump GLB1.

Bad time to point out KFC and WingStreet (Pizza Hut) are both owned by the same company?

GLB1 was not many them happy, too many things to address and the coding was too messy.
They were going to use a different server to recreate GLB1 to fix some of the issues and thought it would be better to remove alot of the previous coding so it wouldn't be as bloated.

Seeing an opportunity to have 2 Beta games running in unfinished states, GLB1 (reboot) was put on display.
The label of GLB2 was considered to be the unofficial version.

In the process, they created a different game instead of using the server to start from scratch.
Easier to maintain while not having to do anything with the older version as they claimed it was not worth dealing with anymore.

Explain it ok?

I've asked myself this a dozen times. I don't play GLB2, I've not even logged in to it. After reading about it for a month, and seeing the screenshots of the new game I knew it wouldn't interest me.

However, Last night I talked to someone who quit GLB1 about a year ago. He had seen an advertisement for GLB2 and came back to check it out.

So maybe the thought process was more about bringing in a more casual fan, and hoping they would want to play the other not so casual game if they stayed interested? Perhaps Bort just went with what he was most comfortable doing?

It's hard telling what brought on a second football game...but it's here now.

Edit for.....the guy who came back loved GLB2 already. He loved the replays, and not having a certain day he had to build.

A better comparison might be Coca-Cola and Diet Coke. They're slightly different, they exist side by side. Some people prefer one over the other, some people like both.

I don't know what's worse ITT. The bad analogies or the horrible comparisons.
