Reward Points are a lot like Flex Points, except that they're not refundable at all, and I have a vague recollection that you can't use them to buy teams or extend team ownership. And Reward Points can only be used in GLB1... they can't be used in GLB2 at all, and they probably won't be usable in any future games Bort makes either.
I mentioned they're not refundable at all... that means that if you use nothing but Reward Points to buy and boost a player, when it comes time to retire that player, you won't get any RPs back at all, unlike the partial Flex Point refund you'd get if you had used Flex Points. As such, you should be careful what you use RPs on. Most people prefer to use their RPs just for their Custom Equipment upgrades, since when you sell back a CEQ piece or retire a dot with CEQ, you don't get a refund on anything spent on the CEQ upgrades anyway... which makes CEQ the perfect thing to spend your non-refundable RPs on.
If you win a Survivor contest, you'll get your trophy and your RP prize at the end of the season. From time to time there are also other contests announced in the forums which have RP prizes too.
