I used to own a team but it was like 15 seasons ago, I thought I'd try again but when looking at tactics I can't find what used to be there where there it was a lot more advanced than basic presets.... ?

You own a Casual team

hmmm last time I owned a casual team I was able to do it has that changed?

team you bought may have already had a "preset" saved. Change to no preset and hit save. That should bring up the basic AI for you.
