Does MVP "voting" end at the end of the regular season, or can the rankings change during the playoffs?

End of regular season

my team found out last season that the rankings can change even during the playoffs. because players at the same position are compared to each other, if 1 high ranking player at a position leaves the league, then the others at that position get a boost. in our case last season, a wr on a cpu team found a new team in week 18 or 19 (i forget which) and the wr in 2nd jumped up over the fb that had been in 1st.

the mvp is just too fubar to care about.

It does change during playoffs, but the trophies go to the one at the top at the end of the regular season

I think I've done a good enough job proving that the MVP rankings are fucked. I'd worry more about winning in the playoffs.

I was on that team last season, and the player in second in week 18 took the MVP. The MVP does not go out until the end of day 40, so whoever is on top at that time, gets it.

That's not true. Post-season stats do not matter with regards to the MVP calcs. If that happened, it's more likely that the system hadn't updated the final regular season stats.

actually it is true, and i even reported it to support. playoff stats dont count, but because bort compares players at the same position against each other, when the 3rd place wr left the league, the 2nd place wr was far better than the remaining wrs, and jumped the fb that was in 1st. personally i never understood why the wr was below the fb to begin with but as of week 18, the fb was in 1st but the wr was in 1st on day 40 and got the mvp. i've also "won" 2 mvps but retired the players b4 day 40 and that totally changed both of those mvp races. i kinda see including the position comparison for the offense and defense because how else do you compare a lb to a cb or de, or a hb to a qb. but for st, its stupid as the base position should be meaningless since they all do the same thing, ie return punts/ko.

but wouldn't you have to have a contract that expires during the season? i thought you couldn;t move teams between day 24 and day 40 unless your contract expires?

players on cpu teams can retire any time or accept new contracts once both teams are out of the playoffs. i dont know exactly what happened to the 3rd place wr, but 1 day he was just gone and the mvp ranking changed.i went back and looked at our forum where i had been doing a mvp watch and on oct 21st i set congrats to the mvp leaders but on oct 26, i posted how the rankings had changed. someone else even reported that in another league, the same thing had just happened to his lb. mvp should be locked down on day 33 so that no changes can affect it from day 33 to 40.

I would just like to say that both of my DMVP's were DT's.

Carry on
