What effect the number of bad throws by a qb? Confidence? pressure? pocket presence? Proximity to rushers? I have a qb who is set to scramble around and he tends to scramble INTO pressure and then make bad throws. He is averaging about 25% or so roughly. Any ideas advice?

Hurries lead to bad throws. Pressure leads to hurries. Fixing blocking is a great start, not moving into the sack is another. In fact, there is a penalty to moving while throwing, so I tend to go never/never.

100% open man can be an issue with the QB holding the ball too long.

Confidence is supposed to reduce the effect of hurries on the QB, but often does so at the expense of overall pass quality due to opportunity cost.

PP SA is going to help you out a lot.

I thought 100% Open Man made him release the ball sooner. If the route is supposed to be a streak down the field but the WR gets open after 5 yards or something than wouldn't that make him get rid of the ball sooner than he would if he was set to more route distance? I thought leaning to the side of "route distance" would make him hold the ball longer

Correct.

The unfortunate thing about having speed at QB tends to be this issue most the time:

QB gets back quick enough to go into the mode of making a pass but bounces up forward in the pocket right away into the defenders and lowers his pass quality not only being "on the run" but also proximity to the defenders and reducing throwing lanes. Drives me nuts.

yeah but i have played with this a lot on our QB and time trial is right. i'm guessing it's becasue the QB is waiting for the man to be too open.

i've also found that too far to the 100% open man the QB doesn;t seem to progress through his targets as fast.

yep..this is pretty much what my guys do all the time..instead of scrambling away from pressure..they tend to step into it and either get sacked or hurried

Saw this today. My Dt got 4 sacks of no more than 3 yards lost cuz the QB was movin all around the pocket and too much towards the LOS... and right into my waiting arms.
