Hey Im just trying to help out all the guys with Qb problems. If you dont like what I say dont flame me. I have a successful Qb that has been consistant for 2 seasons now, in a balanced offense.

The problem people dont realize for there Quarterbacks are they are a reactive position. You cant just blindly build a qb and expect him to perform. Alot of people out there had great Qb's last season, and this season they have failed. This is mainly do to the boosting effect. They have there wideouts that boosted and went "usually" speed. So now the average wideout runs about 55-60. Your Strength needs to be around 75% of your wideouts speed. That means you need a strength of 45 just to keep up with them.

Now the vision aspect. This is the one spot that comes iffy. Here you have to take in account the Full ability of the Wideouts, and your offensive line. The worse the players, the more vision that is needed. This comes in handy when teams are blitzing like crazy. Your qb will see this, and will throw the ball, before your wideout breaks open. Without the vision, he will stand there dumb founded and make some errant throw, just to be picked off.

Throwing. Your qb's throwing should always be the number 1 attribute. Its self explainatory.

Skill points. Pocket passer.
The Pocket Presence. This is a skill that is reactive to the oline. If you have a great online, then this one is pointless. Ill take that one extra sack every 3 games, in order to get that 1 2 or 3 points added to one of the above, and grab 6 points out the deal.
For Tight Spiral. Use the rule of thumb strenght/10 round up if possible.
Field General. This one is a good one to have, its just to expensive for my taste, and havent found a great need to use it "yet"

If you have any questions you can PM me.

Good to know - hadn't heard about the strength/speed issue. Where did you pick that up?

That strength rule makes NO sense. The only possible way for that to make sense is if your WRs are running ONLY streak routes. That doesn't happen unless it's a Hail Mary, and I've never seen one of those on GLB. Strength has nothing at all to do with a WR's speed. I've already seen a QB with 11 strength throw the ball 20 yards, and it got there reasonably fast. Strength is easily the most overrated QB stat, and if it gets too high, the QB actually throws too hard, and his WRs drop the ball more.

Ya your right, my Quarterbacks build sucks bad, time for me to go back to the drawing board.
I would expect a guy with a whopping 20% accuracy rating to know about the position. Im sorry everyone take his advice. What do you think Kayoh, what is your suggestion on a qb build.

Wow, dissing on a level 4 developmental rushing quarterback who has played a whole 1 game for going 2/10? It makes absolutely no sense that a quarterback should have a stronger arm if he has faster WRs unless they run a lot of streaks, which isn't something that happens on GLB.

Like I said, if your going to "discredit" my advice, why dont you give some yourself? Let me guess all vision and throwing, with more than enough towards agility so the Qb doesn't get sacked.
All im going to say, is my stats can back up what I say. I use a spreadsheet for my QB build. And Strength is a big factor in the equation. I build my Qb as mentioned above, it works. He is consistant.

But I feel nice today.

10 yard post Without my strength the SS would of gotten there in time to deflect the pass. My throwing kept it on target, my strength got it there on time.

that is your streak in which the sim runs ALOT.

Anything softer and interception.

There is a 20 yard streak route. Show me a Qb with 11 strength that will make that play.

Btw this is just one game. Against the #2 team in the league.

Here is another one. A quick slant for a td.

Im going to quote you again here. Strength is easily the most overrated QB stat, and if it gets too high, the QB actually throws too hard, and his WRs drop the ball more.
How can a stat be useless and overrated, but have a huge effect in the passing game, I.E. cause alot of drops if its to high?

Did you not read my post? I didnt say you put everything into strength, I said its reactionary. Speed right now is everything in this game right now. With you saying the qb throws it to hard, meaning fast, he just cant lob it between 2 defenders, and expect it to get there on time, but you know what, Im done talking to you. You are the only person that thinks strength means nothing on here, and this comming from a guy who has yet to produce a Qb. Nor are you on a team with a successful QB. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=249857 3 tds and 8 int after 10 games? Common now. Instead of coming on here trying to correct me, and what is PROVEN to work, try to figure out what is wrong with your teams build. Ya granted my Qb and Wr's are 2 levels higher, but when they averaged level 17 like yours does, they still produced.

I disagree that throwing has to be higher than vision

No offense. but arent you in the thread about Qb's not doing so good? Get rid of your padded 9 touchdown game against a 1-9 team, and your sitting at 10-11 ratio. Your qb has choked in all his close games. My quarterback has almost as many touchdowns "8" against the Top 2 teams in our league, than you have.

Vision is important, but no way it should be over throwing.

I think you're trying to say your QB is better than mine and plays tougher competition? LOL. Sorry, but you're wrong.

But its all relative anyway, you play in a tougher league against tougher opponents but have a better team around you and are a higher level, I think your just bitter because your all vision build is failing.

Demonicangel, thanks for this thread pretty interesting theories you have, even though my QB is doing pretty well this season I definatley could go with some more strength as its just 40 at the moment and my recievers are hitting the 55-60 mark speed wise right now.

No I didnt say my qb plays in a tougher league, but I am saying that my quarterback is better. He doesnt choke in big games.
