LOL. yeah becasue when set to 'blitz' in the play creator they go after the QB. it takes a vision check to change and go after the HB (i think). not to the same extent as that play but i've seen DE's with upper 60 vision chase the QB even after he hands off

Yes it does take a vision check (fired each tick) for them to change course. It was intentionally made much more difficult several seasons back when bort and catch reworked a lot of stuff to make outside runs more viable again and screens more effective.

In that specific case the defense might have been "perfect" if you had the LB covering the HB first and then blitzing instead of a flat out blitz or if your LB had "passed" the vision check which is intentionally much harder to do while the ball is behind the line of scrimmage.

Maybe... But I think Westwind has the best idea if you still wanna have blitzes.

Yeah using man coverage is probs the best way to go to blow up the run.
