everyone has extremely low yac. 90% of the time as soon as you catch the ball you are tackled by the CB

To get a high YAC you have to have great speed and good agility. I mean I have more speed then your WR but 5 less agility and I average 4 YAC.

Until my L 13 WR got some major #'s in the quick cut and first step SA he was very low in YAC. I have invested major points into these and his agility and it has helped IMMENSELY. Mainly, I think this is because he is getting excellant separation from the CB's now and has more space to run after the catch, as opposed to being jumped on right away.
I would suggest getting first step and quick cut to 5 each. That should help.
You also need to take the QB's skill into account a little, but the SA's make a ton of difference if you have the associated skill at the right level.

Folks have bad YAC because CB's play tight man to man and play it safe on the interceptions. If you go up against loose coverage and aggressive CB's you'll be able to beat them on occasion. However, right now the threat of the long bomb is too frightening for most CB's to risk getting beat.

It would be nice if their were an advance tactic for WR along the lines of

Catching Focus:
Hands Like Glue: bonus to catching, penalty to avoid first tackle
Medium: No bonus/penalty
Look Down Field: penalty to catching, bonus to elude first tackle

Those would be pretty sweet.
