Yes. However, in this case the 'free' in the title is meant to modify the avatar not the giveaway.

A free avatar could be construed as one of lesser quality. Therefore, giving away a free avatar might not be a big deal.

An expensive avatar on the other hand would be more likely to be of higher quality. Therefore, being involved in an expensive avatar giveaway would feel much more like a contest that you'd actually want to win.
