team owners can offer players loads of cash, but there's no point. the cash a player makes is an arbitrary number. Why not make it good for something? Give the team owners something they can offer a player to sway them toward a team!! There are so many positions with such small human player pools, that it's nearly impossible to recruit a person. And it's impossible to win with CPU players.

Maybe make CPU players suck a little less too; it may keep human players on the game. Almost all of my friends quit playing...just saying

Maybe allow custom equipment purchasing with cash? Or team-morale-boosting/chemistry-boosting activities. Or purchasing of additional training points/skill points/temporary game boosts. You could even split them as active per quarter. These are just examples. Why should your fanbase/customers have to brain-storm up ideas for your game. I see from other threads that this is a concern for people. Can you guys put something together for us?

Only sim related changes please. We don't want to give anyone other than about 10 people a reason to log on.

Agreed. Make the salary cap in leagues mean something. Make me decide if I need that 4th stud receiver or not based on cash. It would make free agency a lot more fun for the lesser known owners if they had a way to sway players and a larger pool of free agents to choose from. Maybe we would have some GLB cap casualties. So many possibilities.

Honestly do something with it or just remove it entirely.

We had cash.

- it made recruiting a nightmare as every player wanted max cash for their salary and to buy equipment that was ridiculously overpriced.

- Guys like me would game the system and build fully build a stadium in two seasons.

I think we are better without it. Recruiting is hard enough.

Only thing I could think of that would make recruiting even more interesting is allow for Morale drops for each day in the offseason and into the regular season that a player does not sign with a team.

Let's say player 1 signs with team B on day 42, their morale bonus would be considerably higher than player 2 that signs on day 48, and player 3 that signs on day 4 of the season.

Math could be done so the higher morale bonus would be 16, after each 2 days not signed player 2 loses 1 in their moral bonus.
Player 1 gets a max salary = 13 bonus in moral on day 42
Player 2 gets a max salary = 10 bonus in moral on day 48

Follow this through...

Player 3 gets a max salary = 3 bonus in moral on day 48 (might be a different formula for regular season)

Basically, if a player hasn't signed with a team all season and then signs on a team on day 30, they would have a negative morale bonus even at minimum salary.

This is a rough draft of the thought, so tear it up!!!
