It seems the it almost always goes to DE's. I think the issue is that a sack is truly a sack, moral hit to multiple players, a sack allowed, tackle and tackle for loss. Under this system LB's, d line and safeties have 0 shot to win. I do not mention CB's because their INTs do sometimes get them in the top ten so they do have a bit of a chance to be def. MVP. The race is fixed for DEs

problem is that a lot of things that make those positions really good are hard to measure (with the exception of ints)

so sacks are the clear cut easy stat to measure...

even in real life, who looks the best? The D-Line guys who get the pressure and the sacks. Ya there's decent CBs and Safeties etc...

Guess that's why they added a "per position" ranking as well

I'm just saying

i've won 4 DMVPs, only one was a DE. one was a FS and one was LB, one was a DT.

they were all in the top 3 for sacks.

so the problem isn't that only DEs can win, its only sack/blitz specialists can win.

and like D32 points out, GLB has been made aware that the MVP formulas are LOL. has always been that way and apparently there's just no will to change it.

I led the WL in sacks with my DE the past two seasons and did not win defensive MVP; the OP is overstating the situation.

the single biggest problems with GLB is everything is compared against the WL and almost all functionality is set to work as if every league was the WL

While the WL is the top league, but is just 1 of 84 leagues and comprises less than 1.2% of all dots.

Same can be said about a lot of positions...

Just because kickers score points doesn't mean a punter should have to have 60 yards per punt to win the K/P MvP!

Punters winning is always really annoying though since they all come from the 0-16 teams lol

Simple. Take top 2 from every defensive position, and randomly select one of those players as the winner.
