As an OC, I've always found University level the hardest to coordinate - the dots are still primary heavy and are like teenagers - they think they're better then they really are. Blocking is spotty, especially pass blocking, passing and catching are sporatic (excepting the screens, which still work), the FBs still have a tough time getting in front of elusives and the D is still setting up outside, which makes the sweep a hit or miss proposition. Yes, there are certain patterns that work better than others, but good DCs know what they are and adjust - what do you guys think?

btw, yes, WL is THE hardest to coordinate as every other coordinator is giving it 100% and the dots are super human, at least if built right. My question though is lower level toughness...

LOL - yes, no amount of coordinating can make up that level difference at that level

Yeah around prep defense really starts to take over, a monkey can put together a decent prep/uni defense but to put up a lot of points is tough.

I think university is decent as an OC. Rookie and Prep are worse. I think late rookie and early prep are the really tough spots. It's difficult to anticipate exactly how your dots/plays are going to work.

Wait... so the constant barrage of pitches/screens/sweeps/counters is just a Uni thing? And that is why Uni teams play their D mainly on the outside? Is that the thing to do?

How about blitzing in Uni's.. how does that work? Since this is my first season as owner.. ever.. I'm kinda seeing what works and doesn't, with a broken team... building a gameplan.. for next season.

I mean mainly outside blitzing. I don't see many people running between the tackles. As you say, blocking is eh, and with the primary speed of defenders now a days I think I can run a solid 46.. shhh

As for offense... runningbacks seem more like receivers than RB's.. should I treat them that way?

Thanks for consideration of the questions

Early rookie is all about dot to dot matchups.
I think that is the easiest, when everyone is level 4. But like T2 said, if your 4s are going against 7s, Good luck!

Uni is by far easiest out of the 3. O dots actually know what they're doing, and now to make something happen lies in the OCs hands.

Not really. In rookie the passing buff for low level dots that make defenders play like shit coupled with low agility/vision it's more about the buff and agility than anything. Anyone that cares enough can run curl routes all day long and kill defenses because the defender just keeps going 10 yards down the field after the receiver stops.

University is where the passing buff wearing off starts really becoming visible. That combined with defender's builds catching up makes it tough. Same goes for Reg Minors as it's pretty much the same story. Very little buff left over, receivers builds not rounded out, defenders with more agility.

This, Defenders can't adjust to cuts and direction changes in routes at all at lower levels, and the passing buff makes for really good odds that the receiver will pull the ball down as there is no one nearby to interfere.

Trust me

Early rookie is all about matchups.

Uni, if you are a bad coordinator, you will fail:

if you are good, you will succeed.
