First and foremost this discussion is about the idea of parody threads not about any 1 particular thread or individual. so lets leave the discussion on a random basis. and leave bringing up individual threads out of the discussion.
I think they bring much needed comic relief to a serious topic like dotball. They help ease the ever increasing burden of trophy.gifs missed.
On the other hand, it seems unfunny people like to try to piggyback on them to make a funny, and it just comes off as a desperate cry for attention and affection. Probably because they either weren't held enough as a baby or were held too much as a child.
