So I unfortunately did not get GM powers until after the chemistry grace period for a new team, meaning our chemistry is now at astronomically low levels. We lost our first two games to CPU teams despite using game plans that have always produced blowouts vs. CPU teams in the past. Granted, since recruiting started so late, some of our builds are FUBAR.

Anything I can do to help combat the low chemistry in the short term or are we just screwed until the chemistry replenishes? I estimate we can only reach a high of 91 this season by day 40.

you're screwed

best you can do is sign the dots w/ builds you like long term and hope you don't have as much turnover next ssn

Screwed is a rough word. On a course to struggle would be more appropriate. The chemistry is a mild excuse for lack of performance, though. The reason you are bound to struggle is because of the dots (poor/underleveled builds and CPUs). I would echo the above thought that you really have to work to establish a quality roster for next season (starting to recruit day ~20 this season).

I likewise wouldn't necessarily bank on old AIs that performed in the past. That's a whole different discussion, though.

Depends on how recent we're talking here. If the AI worked last season at a similar level it is likely to work this season. If the AI is several seasons old, its more of a crapshoot.

I agree in general, though. Bad dots are the root cause with chemistry being a contributing factor.

Chemistry is much bigger than many people think. My old Blues Cats lost to a team by something like 42 points in a regular season game. We scrimmed the same team less than 12 hours later with no changes to any AIs (theirs or ours) and we won. I remember it being a 63 or 70 point swing.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the part about our chem being horrible and theirs being 100.

I know how and when to recruit but unfortunately I wasn't given offer abilities until after the chemistry grace period had expired. The owner seems to log in once a week or so which really isn't helping things much.

I guess I was hoping that even with a mixture of builds we could still beat the CPU teams. We'll just hang tough and tweak the AIs. Thanks for the input guys.

Forget next season. I'd run now. An owner who only logs in once a week is not an owner you want to be GM'ing for.

There are plenty of active owners who give some cares who are DESPERATE for GMs to help them out. Go find 'em. You'll have a lot more fun.

I meant for the team in the OP, silly.

ETA: Also, you should of picked a better example. SWAT is a WL playoff competitor, imo.
