Seems like the tactics are more of a suggestion to the sim and not any sort of rule. Talking strictly defense here.

If you have your auto adjust at: 0

Set to "stick with my settings"

Why does the sim decide to put you in plays that you have set at 0% ?

I've noticed over the past 8 seasons, seems like you end up with anywhere from 3-10+ mystery plays a game.

Example: 0 blitz and you end up blitzing, 100% zone and 0 blitz and you man blitz. 0% short zone and you guessed it, you play a handful of short zone plays.

It would be perfectly understandable if it had certain situations where there was the chance for a default play, maybe inside the 3 yard line that it would put you in a play that shouldn't happen with your settings. Problem is that I have seen the sim put you in 3-4 shallow zone on a 3rd and 5 against a pass happy team and later in the same game, the sim puts you in qtr. deep zone when it is 2nd and G from the 1. The 2nd scenario is more acceptable if you have more then 0% in deep zone and I would chalk it up to one of the drawbacks of casual leagues but if the sim is not going to change your settings in that situation, it is a kick in nuts when it puts you in the wrong defense several times and they end up being long TD passes or runs.

Consider the AI as your wife. It listens, and then ignores everything that you just told it.

Casual tactics have never been firm. The casual AIs have some basic elements that you simply cannot change by adjusting your percentages.

Nope, casual takes your input into consideration but overrides it in certain situations. Think of it as common sense auto pilot.

That was my complain, I would understand if it did that in a common sense situation but I don't want to play shallow zone at midfield on a 3rd down play vs a single back formation. It would be easier to accept if in the same game, it didn't put you in qtr. deep zone at the goalline which seems like common sense.

If you want control, stop playing casual.

This.

Always amuses me when people complain about the lack of control in Casual. That's the point of Casual... everybody is locked into a simple low-control system of gameplay. It gives you a way of being successful without having to spend hours and hours setting up a complicated AI and package system and scouting future opponents.

If you ever get frustrated because you can't control much in Casual, remember this -- nobody else in Casual can control much either. You're all in the same leaky boat with no paddles.

Bingo.

I don't want to tag players, scout and spend time with all the other nonsense but why have ANY settings or tactic controls in casual if they don't apply to the sim ? I don't want more work, just want the few minutes it takes to make changes to your generic settings actually count for something wether the results are good or bad.

To dumb it down, if someone asks if you want cheese on your burger and you say "No" and then brings it with cheese anyway, what is the point of asking the question in the first place ?
