First and foremost this discussion is about the idea of coalitions. not about any 1 particular group or individual. so lets leave the discussion on a random basis. and leave bringing up individual groups out of the discussion.

pretty much everyone that plays this game knows about the coalitions or groups that have formed in the game. while some people believe that it is a necessity to be a part of a large group of like minded individuals. others do not and think that the groups have hurt the game overall. so here is what I am wondering everyones thoughts on. what makes a coalition a good one to be a member of? and what are some of the reasons some people do not want to become members of a coalition or group?

Let me also add that this isn't a thread to get a bunch of childish BS started or any arguing. if you do not agree with someones opinion just move on and voice your opinion on the topic. this isn't a thread to have people brag about their group and this isn't a recruiting thing either. I just see different people say things about the subject and wondered how many more different thoughts there were on the subject.

I don't think organized networks really are all that effective unless they have a group of teams in the same league. I know some pretty shitty dot builders that belong to networks.

I think he's referring to the last part of the post. There are bad builders inside and outside of networks. That's a non-statement. That's like saying people take a dump outside sometimes.

this in my opinion can be true but can also be wrong to a extent. some networks that are in GLB are just social gathering forums that do niot focus on the game much if any at all. while other groups post build guides and will try to bring new agents into the group and try to teach them how to get better at the game. from my experience on this game the level of cares of different groups are about as vast as the level of cares about the leagues themselves.

Or this, just sayin.

The only advantage I can see to Coalitions is ensuring you have all the dots you need. it doesn't really make the dots any better however.

Some of the reasons I've remained independent...

- I find it to be lulzy for people that had nothing to do with a team's accomplishments to take credit for something they had nothing to do with. How many times have we seen "looks like the <alliance/coalition> has won another gold"?

- I do not want to be a part of a group that associates with people I don't like.

- I take pride in being an independent.

There is a sentiment amongst a large group of the userbase that being in ____ network/alliance means you know your stuff. I'm not speaking about the vocal minority that posts in the mains. It's something I've ran across in team and D-league forums.

it is according to what group you have dealt with in reality. some groups really focus on teaching their members to build better dots and in some cases they will teach people how to coordinate or help their members get better at coordinating. some networks on the game aren't really focused on the game. while others are really focused on the game and making their group better. I think alot of people have dealt with a bad group and gotten a bad experience from it. I guess I just think some coalitions in GLB are good for the game because they try to actually help their membership. where other groups do not.
