I know some time ago they scaled back some. Are there any intentions on scaling it back more..

Seems more guys now don't mind the D-league. I remember in the glory seasons being on a D-league was BAD..

D-leagues are for stat-whores, n00bs, and people with experimental builds.

Needless to say I usually have at lease a couple of dots in the d-leagues at all times for any of the above.

For instance:

Experimental QB. Plan on making him used just to pick up short-yardage up the gut and with enough pass quality to hit a screen pass (so they can't load up the box).

Lower levels don't matter now. So it's less fun to watch them, and any success you have is immediately discounted because you're not in Pro or WL. So, DL team or not, it doesn't make a difference to a lot of people. Your dot won't do anything special anyway until later in his career.

That's not entirely true. There are always some great teams and players in the minor elites. It is a great place to earn your chops before getting to a real league.

To be honest, the Pro leagues are pretty LOL right now. You can lose in the first round of a reg pro competitive playoff and end up in Pro. The contraction was supposed to make Pro more competitive, but they blew it and there are some absolute garbage teams in Pro.

Great teams, yes, but in the eyes of a lot of GLB users, being great in the minors isn't really anything worth talking about. Players in the minors are fun to watch, sometimes, but if you don't have success in the WL, then a lot of people really don't care.

I don't like that, and I kind of liked the old "Pro being the top" league structure we had, and all the league rivalries, having to win to promote, etc.

Each level of the game matters to that user. If you only care about the pro level, then your dot will have a long boring life cycle for you to sit and wait. I would rather enjoy my dots from when they are created till pro so I get my money worth out of them. Not to mention outside of WL the league forums are more active in the minors.

I don't know how much time you have spent in the elite minors, but there are a lot of rivalries there. I doubt when my team gets to natty pro I will be around long enough to build any rivalry there, maybe in WL, but then again who knows how long I can stay there.

GLB only does whats in the best interest for them and not the PAYING USERS. WAAAY Too many CPU teams that have a few human owned dots. If they removed 50% of CPU teams, there would be more teams full of Human owned dots.

For instance, I hate the Chiefs with a white hot burning rage because they are the only team in my age group that can consistently beat mine. I also respect the hell out of them as coordinators and as dot builders.

None. I took a two year break, and just came back last season. The game is just geared toward "the end" so much. I enjoy watching games, seeing players develop, all that jazz, but I, personally, would love to be able to train special abilities, or be able to pump SP into them early without ruining my dot in the long run... eh.

how can you say it is geared toward the end build?

that is a personal opinion. I have had dots and seen dots do thing that were special.

Lower level are the most equal you can get at the game. NO AEQ until you think is a good time. Because that shit is purely random and luck of the draw.

Because it's common practice to map out a "plan" to maximize your build for Level 79...

Look, I'm not saying the lower levels can't be fun. I've never made it to WL, or even pro. Never been patient enough under the old development. Now that things move quicker, I'll probably give it a shot. I've had plenty of fun in GLB. However, I'm VERY aware that having "too much" fun with my build now, will leave me with a player that's less fun in the later seasons, that I'll probably have to retire (and lose on flex that I had purchased before taking a break).

As for "opinion", winning at the low levels is fun. Season 12-13 I think my team went on a 49 game win streak, and I had a blast. But, if I would have brought that up in the forums, nobody really would have cared because it was the minors.

No one would have cared in the Pro and WL forums you mean. People who play in the elite leagues are impressed by teams that win consistently in the Elite leagues. No one would care if you won 49 games in non-elite leagues if you couldn't translate that into wins in Elite. No one would care if you won 49 games in casual, except maybe the other people who play casual.

The argument that planning to maximize your dot for level 79 means that you can't have success in the minors is a joke. The same dots who have consistently been performing well all through elite minors aren't built for the elite minors, they are built for level 79. The ability to move around your EQ in the offseason means that you can tailor your build to endgame success without sacrificing minor league success. The ability to buy AEQ means that (at least for some builds) you will have access to high level SAs without having to wait for the endgame.

The reason a lot of people who are "building for level 79" don't have any success in the minors is because they often don't try. I'm on a farm team where many of the dots haven't added CEQ or upgraded their EQ since level 1. Coordinators don't care if they win or lose because they are too busy with their WL teams and often leave the coordinating to people without a lot of experience. Those people often become disheartened when they do try because many of their team's dots aren't upgrading EQ or adding VAs. Those teams tend to wallow in the mid-range of the competitive leagues for the entire minors until they approach level 64-72. These people then report back how great dots cannot succeed in the minors.
