Instead of having people do a +1, or a -1 in threads, make it so they can just click a button that tallies the votes at the top of the thread page.

It would make it much easier for those with authority to see which suggestions are positive or negative.

This would take away the control over what is up for a vote and what is not up for a vote

Members should not be able to vote on that which is not deemed "up-for-a-votable", until it is thusly deemed "up-for-a-votable".

Either way, this would be redundant or circumventive ... NGTH

good idea and this was brought up a while back as well. basically the gist of the idea from before was to set it up like the system that is in use in FFA. basically if you like the OPs suggestion you would hit the green button if you didn't like it then you would hit the red button. the biggest argument against it was that people would abuse the system and it would end up being a popularity contest. or some people would continually vote down certain users suggestions just for the sake of voting them down.

Personally I +1 the idea. but I do not see it being implemented though

This makes sense,

but the OP's idea is a good one imo,

I think it would be more beneficial to GLB if the "up for vote" was scraped into this idea, and just let us vote on everything, instead of a select few.

That way I think it would be easier overall for the Mods in this forum to pass things up the chain of command.

Has been pretty terrible in FFA and GD (don't know about TT since I never look there). Do not want it anywhere else.

Then there would be a conflict if someone starts a thread, it gets 95% up and 5% down, and subsequently gets locked because it is deemed "NGTH"... not a good look.

Would be at least nice to have :thumb's-up: and :thumb's-down: smileys instead of the ol' +1/-1.

b) not everyone wants to read every suggestion

oh wait, that's how they do it in presidential elections - 1,234,967 to 1,103,975, somehow the 1,234,967 votes become irrelevant.
