Our second round playoff opponent decided to boost up to Level 18 this morning. We faced them in the regular season and beat them 34-7, so I'm guessing they did this as somewhat of a last resort. ("If you can't beat 'em, boost 'em.") Several of the guys on my team are still at Level 15, including all of my dots. Even with their boosts, the LOL Bars on the matchup still favor my team (http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=1194&team2=1216), but something tells me that a team full of L18s would beat most L15 teams.

Should we leave our guys at level 15 so as to not destroy their training/build? Should we take a half measure and boost to Level 16 to take advantage of the equipment upgrade, but save the other two boosts for Day 48? Or should we take the full measure and boost to Level 18 to ensure they have no SP advantage?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Boosting at this point will not destroy your build. It will cost you a little bit of training, and by end build it *might* be the difference in 5-8 SPs in your SP value or maybe 1 less in some attribute, but if everything else you do from this point on is solid, you will still have 99.5% as good of a build as you would have if you waited to boost. Some people overstate the training losses from boosting a few days sooner than another guy.

If you want to win, this is what I would do. The SPs gained from the other two boosts are not going to make a difference 9 out of 10 times, since you will probably be holding them to cap something. However, 4 points of EQ can make a difference.

I always include boosting in my VPB plans for players I never create.

Tbh. If you want to win rookie, boosting to 16 is best. 18 is unnecessary tbh, but most times, it will do virtually no harm to your build.

A lot of people overstate the negatives to boosting to 18 before end of playoffs,
balogne imo.

run some VPBs so you can get an idea of what the loss is (and if you plan wisely, their can be 0 loss at all)

Co-signed. It NEVER hurts to run your dot through the Virtual Player Builder.

Also, the above advice is solid. If you want to be a build-nazi, then yeah, you'll want to wait until Day 48 to boost, but I think you'll be fine boosting to 18, or just to 16 for the Eq, or going un-boosted and just putting some extra effort into your gameplan.
