It's season 35 and we don't have something so simple that would add some fun to the game. Just adapt the regular season MVP system to playoffs.

I think a Player of the Game trophy would be more suitable, for whichever player wins to add to their personal trophy case.
No need for another MVP ring/EQ opportunity based on 4 games.

I think Bert should just do away with lolregularseasonMVP and only have playoff MVPs.

Playoff MVP should actually be the MVP ... not sure how an MVP could get awarded to a dot that is on a team that doesn't make the playoffs.... srsly lolregularseasonMVP

I doubt it's done correctly anyways (MVP's) as most people think it's only about numbers. To me, it means exactly what it says... Most Valuable Player. Not in $ worth... but in what that player meant to their respective team. Some players put up equivalent numbers on a non-playoff team to those of a playoff team but get no love. However, take away each player from the teams they're on and the playoff team probably still makes the playoffs as it's less dependent on their "superstar" than the non-playoff team who would probably not even have but a couple of wins without their "superstar". To me, this makes the non-playoff team's superstar worth more to his team... therefore he is more valuable.

All that said, I don't think that would work here at all so I'm all for the OP's suggestion and even amicable to Dub J's suggestion as well.

It would be really nice if plays were weighted. So a sack on 4th down while winning by 1 would be worth substantially more than 5 sacks in a blowout. Sadly, Bort went for stat whoring over substance.

For as poorly as MVP is implemented, just get rid of it completely.

as to the people who say get rid of MVP altogether, the reg season MVP may be broke but it still adds something interesting to the game. fix it preferably but do not get rid of it.

MVP uses blowout adjusted stats.

+1 to the OP, -1 to the regular season MVP bashing.
