i have a ton of inactives, i had signed to 3 yr deals as lvl 1. their contract expires this offseason. but since my team isnt very competitive, shouldnt i just release them now and take the chem hit?

i guess in short im asking whats the chem hit for releasing a red inactive vs letting a contract expire?

Cutting a player that has been inactive for 7 or more days carries no chem penalty. Might as well cut them now.

I wouldn't be in such a hurry to cut them. You said your team isn't very competitive so I'm not really understanding the rush to cut players. Cutting a bunch of human owned players if you don't have replacements for them definitely won't make your team any better (will actually make it even worse). Not to mention big had some pretty bad tornadoes in his area so he might log back on any day now.

Not sure that you can even find 7+ replacements mid-season anyway. Especially 2 STOPS, 3 O-linemen, D-linemen, and a LB. You would basically be cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I've always thought these -0- tolerance "inactive and your cut" rules some owners have is pretty silly. You have to think about what is best for your team. Not adhering to an idiotic "rule".

Just put the in-actives in at special teams

But after a month, would those players even be worth still keeping? I thought that you stop training after a certain number of inactive days?

The question shouldn't be, "Won't these players suck?"

The question should be, "Can these players be replaced right now with better players?"

As has been mentioned above, getting replacement dots mid-season can be quite difficult. If you can find a human dot that is better than a month-old inactive dot right now, then yes, absolutely, cut the inactive dot and sign the new human dot. But if you can't find a replacement human dot, your choice then comes down to a month-old inactive human dot or a CPU dot, and CPU dots really don't sound better to me.

Exactly, you have to examine the situation and decide what is best for your team. In the mid to upper levels of the game it's not really even an issue since training is only going to do so much over the span of a month and level ups are fewer and farther between.

As for the op. We only have 2 more weeks in the season (8 games). If you can find better dots now then go for it. If not, I would suggest not making any roster changes.

After a month the season would be over.

I even think D/L and CPU teams have it that if you don't log in for a certain number of days they boot your player.

CPU teams are just cold like that, "Cold Players Union"

I was referring to the fact that they have already been inactive for a month, losing valuable training at a critical time.

Not sure following a CPU team's example is the way to go.

Still better than CPU dots.

Here's what is available to replace all those dots http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4448179 .
