Team I was on was recently sold. Instead of giving every one a free blowout, I signed CPUs, and put in an offense based on the remaining players. We lost, but it was a respectable 27-10. Would that not be better to get letting the GMs run the team until a new owner comes in? Getting 100_ point blowouts is boring and it messes with the stats as some had to play a real team and some get the blowout stats. I was doing it because I do not know anything about casual presets and it was a good way to learn.

Until someone else buys the team I can see this as a +1, as long as they were Co owner, HC, OC, DC before it was sold.

The issue is that you could effectively get to run a team without paying for it. If someone wants continuity, they should step up and buy the team- problem solved.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Fine in a game where there are plenty of players and co-ordinators, but when teams get sold, half the players bolt before the ink is dry. So the team is not going to win any trophies, so what is the down side of letting people run it and keep it competitive? Under normal circumstances, I would never be playing around with casual tactics, but had I remained co-owner of a CPU team, I would played around with it to see how it works. Everyone bitches about the lack of knowledgeable co-cordinators these days, and this would be a great way to learn it. Is the conference really better off letting a team go full CPU vs letting a few humans run half a team? When you own a team, you try to win. When you are GM of a CPU team, you try to learn.

GLB has already made their money on the team because selling back does not get a full refund. Plus I have never understood why owners get any refund at all for selling during the season.

Very good point. Since team owners get a partial flex refund when they sell a team back, this could be a back-door way of buying a team on the cheap. Person A buys a team, names Person B the Co-Owner and gives them full access, then Person A sells the team and gets most of their Flex back, while Person B gets a free team.

Too exploitable. Just buy the team.

If not for that exploit potential, though, SciFi's suggestion would be a good one.

Have to -1 on this one.

Without an owner, there is always the risk that someone else comes in and buys it, so what real negative is there to letting someone run it? I see the exploit, but no real reason to use it. The benefits are many though to actually letting someone run it and keep it competitive. Does anyone really enjoy the 100+ point blowouts?

Of course not. So, buy the team.

I have zero interest in owning a team that will lose every game. Nor do I see any reason to waste flex for the benefit of 15 other teams. And there just are not enough players any more to restock a team outside of rookie.

Then if you have no interest in it why are you making this suggestion? No one likes the 100 point blowouts but for the ones of us that pay to own teams. Making a loophole for someone to own a crappy team for free isn't fair either. So if you want to do the work for a team spend the cash like the rest of us do.

You obviously think that owning a team is fun. I do not care for that kind of time commitment. I would find trying to keep an overmatched team close fun, but there is no real benefit in doing so other than learning. All I am talking about is making sure that the roster has the right players in the right spots, and selecting offensive and defensive presets to make it a challenge. I do not consider that running a team. Again, these are teams that will lose every game, the only question is it more fun for everyone to pound a team 255-0, or 27-10? Right now, Bort wastes everyone's money by inflicting the 255-0 games on us.

I understand that people think that people would get a "free" team, but it is assured that if you had any success, someone would buy it which actually would be good for GLB as someone will have bought a team that otherwise would have provided zero benefit for GLB. And just because there is a small negative, GLB does not actually lose anything by allowing this, does not mean you should ignore the benefits. Again, this is ONLY for GMs in place when a team is sold. And I would be fine with no one retaining offer abilities so that you could not build a good team this way.

If you want to "Learn", Ask an Owner to help you out with a job? There's plenty of Teams that have no Coach, Believe me.

friend you can spin it however you want to spin it. but you are asking to basically have all the duties of a owner and run a team. that you simply haven't paid a dang thing for. if this was implemented then there would be a ton of people exploit it and try to save flex. so it just isn't fair to give someone the reins to a team without them paying for it. while the ones of us that have paid for our teams do not get the same deal. if you want to learn or want to try to help a struggling team. then contact some teams that are full of players that are struggling and offer to help them and make some new friends on the game.
