"This season isn't good. I'm starting fresh next season"

Hey, thanks for signing my guy to your sinking ship. Why on earth would I make a dot in the future for your team when you give up before game one?

Why, if you want to be a great team, are you accepting auto offers from agents?

I don't expect ever to be on a great team, but I do appreciate owners that seem to appreciate what agents have done for their team, bringing their dot in, boosting him, etc, to declare that the season is a wash before it starts is demoralizing. Teams like this should start with a -50 in team morale.

So, before you tell your team you are packing it up before the first game, consider the time, money and energy each of the current agents on your team have spent to be a part of your team.

perhaps you took this as a whining thread. not so.
I'm merely pointing out that owners should think twice about publicly folding the house before the season. Who wants to be a part of that?

Still a whine thread tbh...Unfortunately it can be a part of the game.

I posted it to bring light to what owners shouldn't do. There is a possibility an owner could learn something from it. But if it's whining to you, so be it.
I don't care about being on the team, i've more than one player to handle, so it isn't a big deal to me. I guess that's why I don't see it as a whine. Im not asking to be released.
I'm just wondering what goes through the head of an owner when he says that.

I would rather see that in the team forum than some lying idiot that proclaims "we will compete" despite the fact the roster is half CPU and the other half are shit builds. If my team is not going to be competitive I'm not going to lie to the agents with the team. If you tell agents you will compete, make the playoffs, ect... with a less than competitive roster it just makes you look like a noob owner.

there is plenty to say of stuff in between "we will compete" and "i'm giving up this season and starting next".

Yeah, then you lose 4 out of 6 games and have agents in the team forum calling you a fucking liar/idiot.

yeah, if you said 'we will compete'. I guess if those are the only two phrases that are available, i'd choose to say neither. I'm not saying lie to your agents about being great. It's about giving your best during the current season.

"hey, there are a lot of better teams out there, but we are going to give it our best shot"
"we may not win every game, but let's have fun this season"
those are just two phrases I can think of beyond the two above, which are the extremes of lying and giving up. Plenty of gray area in between.

As an owner, i'd never discount the current season if there were other agents on the team. I wouldn't lie about competitiveness, But I also would consider agent morale.

I do own a team, and have in the past, and would never tell the agents we are packing it in before the first game. lol. Regardless of any agents I have to go through with, as there are more than one agent on a team. I'm not going to treat them all based on one agent.

Who cares the game was never meant to be about a team anyway imo. Otherwise they would/shuld have set it up as a "buy your team full of dots you could build yourself". That was just the shade they put over it to get the funds , end of day people are paying for their dots success not the teams. People that say otherwise are fooling more than just themselves.
