Spot zones, ie the small zone that a defensive player defaults to when their man coverage options don't meet, should be listed as one of the primary options and not just an option of last resort.

There are times when a small zone right were I place a player would be ideal instead of one of the predefined zones. I know assigning a player to man cover a ghost player, then default to the zone can work, but I believe that takes an extra second or two that the player is looking for that ghost player instead of watching the play.

Or another option would be to do away with the predefined zone locations and just make all zones spot zones and just pick the size you want.

For those DC's who do use zones, thoughts?

I"ve always assumed that's what "zone" does. Sits him right where he is.

Just choose immediate zone option for said dot.

You are correct, but that only triggers after you set your defender to man coverage and that man coverage doesn't trigger. I want that "Zone" as a primary option, not a fall back option.

To the best of my knowledge, "Zone Immediate" means your player will go straight to the center of their pre-defined zone even if they recognize the play as being something else. Regular zone allows the zone player to break off from going to the center of the zone if they recognize the play as something else. Correct me if I am wrong.

Any regular zone will do this, just got to pass the vision check. Which of course is why zones are so horrible at low levels, but pretty good once the build fits.

don`t use them because even if you have 60 vision in peewee it still has split of a second to react and sometimes agility sucks and you get big gain

as for high level it works as it is now

I find that 1st cap Vision is enough for zone use in PW, but 2nd cap does help reaction time.

I just wish the dots would actually go to the spot shown in the diagram. Under zone third doesn't mean run straight for the sideline it means stay 3-5 yards inside the sideline..
