Can someone enlighten me as to why there might be a league adjustment if I'm not over the salary cap? I'm kinda pissed I won't be able to use that money for stadium construction, and I want to make sure I didn't screw something up before going to support.

I believe they reset newly bought teams to a certain financial point, so my guess is that the league adjustment could have been them resetting the finances because of that.

They should also have partially built stadiums, but I can not find the thread that explains how much of a stadium should be there for each level so I am not sure if they reset your stadium per that standard or not.
Only support could fix this for you anyway, so you might as well open a case and confirm if that is what happened or if some mistake was made (ensure they reset it to the proper level if they did and that they did not short change your money or your stadium. Mistakes can be made, after all).

Yep. When a team is sold to the CPU, it goes through a three day waiting period. During this time, the team is not available for purchase to the general public. When those three days have passed, the team is reset to the starting levels (including its cash) of the league it is part of. That way, everyone who is buying a new team, at a particular level, starts out at the same point.
