I thought it was pre-season. Meaning I still have time to sign with a team. I just tried to train one of my dots that is a free agent and I was not allowed due to being during the season. Is this working as intended?

Yes. Off-season is the only time you can train while being a free agent.
That's a bit grey.

Just sign to a Dleague team if you want to train, then wait until he gets picked up by a team...
It is definitely a grey area. You can have more than 30 BT during the preseason so its not a big deal but I do see where it leads to confusion.

FYP? I think? lol

Ironically, still wrong. Should read:
You can have up to 30 TP during the preseason. At no time can you have more than 30 TP.

Nope, not wrong. Build a player today and let him sit a couple days and see how many TP he has.
I created the bug ticket myself about 6 months ago...

Image was taken during the preseason (don't ask why I had so many dots with so many saved TP, I honestly don't know). Response from Catch22...

I kept two of the rookie dots around to test it out. TP accrued until Day 0 then dropped back to 14 on the one not on a team and 30 on the one on a team.

Yeah I am the one that brought logic to the Working as intended response. My Dot was created early in the "pre"-season late one night. The next day my dots only had 14 TP. I explained that how is one supposed to create a dot and get signed to a team of their choosing the same day, and why would someone want to sign with a CPU team just to train. Then what happens if god forbid the CPU team gets bought OMG before the season starts. It was looked at and everyone got their TP back retroactively.
Now if they would only listen to one or two other things so this game could be "enjoyable" at lower levels.

If the CPU team gets bought, I thought all human dots have the opportunity to release themselves and sign with a different CPU team.
I think you might be over-thinking this problem.

Its not really a problem...more an added headache that really isn't necessary. There is no advantage gained by allowing a dot to train during the preseason while not on a team.

Is it really a headache???? Perhaps a bit of a nuisance. However, it is worth noting that it is going by the letter of the law. Off-season <> preseason.

Not a major one. Its just one more piece of complexity (though minor) that could be removed. Also, I'm not arguing that offseason = preseason. I just don't see where someone can gain any sort of advantage by being able to train while not on a team during the preseason.

Wasn't that put into place to kill super-slow-building? People would stay off of teams in order to avoid building up XP, but they could still train. But I'm not sure if it would make a difference now that we have Accelerated Player Development in place.
