It may have been already proposed in this forum, don't know. Teams should be able to release players once the team gets eliminated. The older guys could retire some days earlier while it gives room to hire new replacements. Chemistry hit would get extra some days to heal. It would also let players already leaving some extra days to go shopping for a new team as well.

Or the option to release players could come back after D35 of each team out of the playoffs race yet.

If I recall correctly, it's locked for everyone until Day 40 because Bort and Catch were concerned people would try to do Stupid Roster Exploits if they missed the playoffs or got knocked out early.

yeah, cut all your players early so that you regain chem faster. it wouldnt be fair to teams still in the playoffs. This would produce an exploit and is most likely NGTH

You can add players at any point in time. Thus the roster freeze. So teams out of the playoff race don't just collude with teams in the playoffs by sending their best players around.

Also this suggestion completely defeats the purpose of a chemistry hit.

What??? Not at all. I have players on my team - players that are mine - that are getting old and will retire anyway. So now or in 4 days, what's the difference for the players? But for the team, it means more rooms.

Every trade is reviewed by someone, right? So what's the exploit, again?

no, they are not

also, chem will start to recover now rather than after day 40

although the chem hit is 3 now and after day 40, so cutting 2 or more players now actually makes the chem hit even worse

I agree you can add players at any time but you can't go beyond 55 players even though you already know 15 players are about to retire in 3-4 days. (like they already told you so)

This means chemistry on day 41 instead of - let's say - day 35. 5 days less to heal the chemistry.

So why is there an awaiting processing time before the trade takes place?

only because they get processed each night at rollover - if you make a trade 5 minutes before rollover it will still get processed during the next rollover - not for any review of some sort

cut 10 players today, take a chem hit of 30 to drop to 70, on day 41 you heal back 6 to get to 76

cut 10 players on day 41 and you take a chem hit of 10 and drop to 90

your chem is better off by waiting to cut players

edit - and I think chem hit late in the season was double at one time - not sure if it still is or not

so cutting 10 players now drops you 60 chem points, not 30

even if available, you are better off waiting to cut players

The difference is that you get a head start on everyone else. Though at red explained...you would actually hurt your chem worse by cutting someone now rather than waiting.

Also has to do with making sure players aren't available to play a game 2 days in a row.
