Adding an archetype filter to the scout tool would be very helpful to me. Most of the time I really don't have much time to scout and game plan. Check boxes for archetypes would save me tons of time especially setting my defense. It would certainly be useful on offense as well.

I know there are those who would call me lazy for this, but sometimes gameplan seems more like a job to me. I do like to watch hundreds of replays trying to find out if a blocking TE is in on all inside rushes, if a RQB is in on only outside rushes, or if a pass rushing DT is always in on 3rd and 6, but sometimes I just don't have the time.

+1. I like this.

I don't see that archetype would be the most useful, I think combining the current scout roster tool and scout tool would be more ideal.

Essentially you should be able to sort by what "tagged" players were in on the play referring to your roster-scout tagging page.

This would be much more useful to me.

or if it just provided a report of which tags were in on the play with the play link.

This was suppose to help determine tags. I don't have time to watch hundreds of plays and just want to filter player archetype combinations. This would also not do anything at all for the offense.

I would like to check say...

Scrambler QB, Scat HB, Blocking FB, Reciever TE and only look at plays with that combination in. I could then decide how to tag or if to tag.

On defense you could determine when the bad guys use blitzing LBs and such. If it is too complicated and doesn't save time I wouldn't use it.

Probably ideally would be a combo of the two and you could filter individual players rather than archetypes or tags.

Okay fine, then I suggest that it be done via drop-down boxes containing all of the players whom are in the roster spot for each position.

So you should be able to sort by when "bob" is in, and when "bob2" is in, essentially would require a tiny bit more work with the scout tool to get both parties desired results but it makes both possible, and actually more precise.

I suppose another alternative would be to just be able to sort by depth chart slot (te/te1/te2).

Whether it's sorted by Archetype, or by player, or by depth chart slot... any one of those would be better than what we have right now: nothing.

There are arguments for and against each of those 3 alternatives, but I say just pick one and go with it. I don't really care which one, because any of them would be an improvement.
