False info... tagged defense is best to use against wildcat unless you specially formulated a defense and you do need to tag the QBs for the defense to run properly

Yup tagged preset. When you go to a opponent's team profile page you'll see a 'Scout' link beside their team name. Click it!
And here's the details on the preset: http://goallineblitz.com/game/faq.pl?cat=Team%20Ownership#274

If you mean percentages then no.

Tagging is made for AIs. The tagged preset is just a benefit for casual dotball.
Tags operate as additional criteria that you may place in an input in your AI.

No, you cannot edit ANY preset in casual. The tagged defense is a preset. If you apply all tags, it does some stuff. I play around with it and do not tag certain dots. It actually takes some practice but you may not always want to tag a dot in casual. Catch22 or someone in admin designed a basic tagged defense that you cannot control. You can easily look at it and how it works by going to your home page/tactics/playcalling AI/preset tab http://goallineblitz.com/game/team_ai.pl?ai_type=preset
Say you have a FB that is a scat, but runs sometimes. The opponent is doing one of 2 things:
Either they are using a preset offense and have distributed the FB across the rushing spot and the receiver spot, or
they use percent based playbooks (base AI) and it sometimes does the unavoidable and calls the receiver to run, and vice versa.
If you do use the tagged preset, it's best to scout the opponent and see that the only throw to scats and run rushers. You will then be 90-100% sure they are also using presets. Tagging will work if your builds are on par, or better, than theirs.
However, if you scout and see some games that they rush the scat and some they pass to him, you can be in a world of hurt if you tag him as speedy or receiver.
Does that make sense? PM me if you need help.

Basically then, I can tag when adding an input to the AI. I don't have to use the Basic Defense Style preset "Tagged".

Correct.
Tagging a 'rusher' in the QB slot is a criteria the same way 3rd down is a criteria. Just make sure you tag the opponent's players with the corresponding tags you use in your AI.
