I've been noticing this, not just with my dots, but with others as well and it doesn't seem right. If your dot moves from one team to another during the season, he stands a good chance of losing XP because of the move. Why? Measures have been made already in GLB to make sure dots get all the same XP if they play or not... so why does this injustice still exist?
I'll use my own dots to explain. All 4 of these dots were created at the same time (on the same day) and the ONLY difference between them is that 2 of them wound up on a team that got CPU'd mid-season and I found a Owned team that needed them and wanted them. But moving them cost them 375 XP's. That isn't right.

My 2 Dots that lost XP;

Lv. 52
Age 160d
250/1000 XP
875/1000 VXP

Lv. 52
Age 160d
250/1000 XP
875/1000 VXP

My 2 dots that didn't;

Lv. 52
Age 160d
625/1000 XP
875/1000 VXP

Lv. 52
Age 160d
625/1000 XP
875/1000 VXP

Notice that ALL 4 dots have the exact same amount of VXP... so if that is possible, then why isn't it possible they have the same XP? They should... and hence this suggestion. GLB, please fix this. Thanks.

first 2 are obviously juicing. thanks for pointing this out, we will begin the process of removing them from the record books and banning them from the league

I know WHY it happened... I'm saying it SHOULDN'T happen. At least make it up in the off season if it's a problem for in-season situations.

So what? I should've told the team that needed my dots, "Sorry... your schedule doesn't match up with my dots. You're screwed?"
Or, perhaps, I should've told GLB "Sorry... my dots won't be available to anyone until NEXT season because I don't wanna screw up their XP?" Neither of these answers is worth a crap and shouldn't even be considered. Much easier to fix the issue than to punish dot builders, or teams, for stuff they have no control over.

the thing is, there is more than enough XP built into the system that will allow him to get this XP back later on

so not sure this is a big issue... you might be short a little XP here, but unless you do this EVERY SEASON (and maybe even then) it shouldn't be an issue

In the end I suspect you'll end up at level 73 with 0 XP just like everyone else. It may take you an extra day or two to get there but you will.

That said, the solution is easy. All leagues in the same age group should play on the same day. For example:

Odd Days
National Pro
Regional Pro
National Minor
Regional Minor

Even Days
World League
Rookie
Prep
University
Semi-Pro

If I counted correctly and based on this season's structure you would have 30 leagues playing on odd days and 30 on even days. WL and National Pro would be playing on opposite days and you wouldn't have odd issues like this.

You simply have to wait until after both dots play their game that makes games played equal, then move. I've brought dots over many times and have never lost any exp.

Sounds like a bug.

From the changelog:

Mar 6, 2012
- Fixed issue with game awarded XP where players could miss out on a game's XP if they changed teams mid-season and played back to back days in different weeks

That was a fix to a fix, iirc.

In the beginning a dot could play on an odd day and be traded to a team playing on an even day and they'd get XP for both games. A fix was put in place to prevent XP gains in back-to-back games. That fix had to be fixed because a dot who played on even days was traded to an odd day team they'd actually lose out on XP because of the fix.

Theo's situation is more like this...

Team A goes CPU
Team B wants Theo's dot
Team B play their game before Team A (either a day earlier or simply earlier in the day)
Theo signs with Team B
Team A plays
Theo's dot doesn't get XP for that "week".

Still wouldn't be a perfect fix (didn't realize that until my post immediately before yours) since all sims won't happen at the same time. A dot could be on a team that plays "late" and end up on a team that plays 'early' and miss XP if they sign between the time the "early" team plays and the "late" team plays. Its a situation where it would be easy to say agent error but that's honestly a detail that would be easy to overlook.

To me, the easiest fix would be to simply apply/even out the XP at the end of the season (after playoffs). I KNOW this is possible somehow (getting the XP leveled out) because the VERY SAME MOVE did NOTHING to effect my VXP... just my XP (and anyone else who gets hit by this). Yes... I know my dot will catch up AT THE END... but it shouldn't have to. And that's my point.

VXP is awarded daily with no tie to games.
XP is awarded daily with additional XP when you play a game.

If you allow "catch up" XP after the season I see all kinds of possible exploits which could lead to a new wave of super slow building.
