I'm an experienced DC and just wrapped up a lengthy head coaching stint. I thought I'd retire, but instead have decided to take a break from building dots and focus just on coaching/coordinating.
I run a high-risk/righ-reward style of play with lots of blitzing out of a 4-3 alignment. Speed on the edges and size in the middle is what I like to coach, and my system takes advantage of this.
