maybe before K/P got its own MVP category, but simply scoring points shouldn't make K's earn OFFENSIVE MVP honors.

There are quite a few in the running. The kicker for my Cas Pro team has been in the race for the past 2 or 3 seasons.

Don't know about the suggestion but I think when teams tank game after game the owner should have the team taken away.

+1, or make the lazy owners start paying all the other owners for the game. People buy a team expecting 16 competitive games. In the early seasons, I thought teams were taken away if not actively run?

I never understood adding the kicker/punter MVP. You only get endorsements at a time, so do you really want 1 wasted on a kicker or punter? There are plenty of positions that have no chance at a MVP, but at least kickers have a chance at offensive MVP, so why do they merit a special category? If any thing, they should have been rolled into the ST MVP.

anyone in the top 5 has a shot at getting a piece of EQ, right?

anyway, the point of the suggestion is to fix something that was probably an oversight when they expanded the MVP categories.

ST stats should not count for non-ST MVP awards (this goes for ST tackles counting for Defensive awards, too).

Be careful what you wish for. They'd have to screw around with the MVP formulas to make these changes happen, and in the process they'd probably screw MVPs up even more than they already are.

I just don't think this is that big of a problem. If Kickers were regularly winning Offensive MVP trophies and endorsements, I'd be more concerned. But this is simply a case where I'm more afraid of the "cure" than I am of the "disease," if you can even call this a disease at all.

probably not a huge problem, but all these little things that are still wrong with the post-beta GLB were fixed, it would improve the overall product. if not, it risks death by a 1000 tiny cuts

I'm going to disagree just a little. If someone did due diligence I suspect you'd find out that less than 3% of all (offensive) MVP's end up being kickers. For the few that DO win an MVP award, in my opinion, they really earned it with their build more than with their stats. Even IF some stat padding was done, the build would still have to support the effort. A mediocre or simi-good kicker becomes more exposed with each use and therefore makes it much harder for him to win. Only a damn good build would sustain, over volume, enough high quality to be considered. IMO.

the point is most don't play on offense... the kickers who line up and play on offense SHOULD be eligible, but their points scored (many of which are PATs) shouldn't keep a QB, HB etc from getting a trophy or EQ (and I'm a little curious about what EQ a kicker would get for winning an offensive MVP award, would it even help them?)

there's currently about 50 kickers in the Offensive MVP rankings across 86 leagues. mostly in Casual and D-leauges.

they arent keeping a QB, HB, etc from getting a trophy or EQ, the QB, HB, etc arent earning one. if they scored more then the K wouldnt be on the list because despite what you just posted its not because of PATs that they are on the list. they only make the lists because they kick a bunch of FGs.... just look at the "worse example" you just gave, every last one of those Ks have a bunch of FGs, not a bunch of PATs

as already stated, there arent that many Ks in the running except in the d-leagues and a bunch of other leagues full of a bunch of CPUs

Okay, yeah that example looks silly. However, it's also a D-League. So, I'm still really not all that worried about it.
