pretty self explanatory. A missed sack means you got a hand on the qb....that's pressure.

If you mean, when there is a missed tackle on the QB, -1. A hurry is when a QB is forced to get rid of the ball due to the pressure in the pocket. If they break the tackle, they get another chance to find an open receiver.

Any QB in their right mine will feel pressured when a defender puts a hand on them.
Even a dot should feel pressure, even after they break one tackle, in fact, they should be twice as angsty.
+1 to OP imo

But the defender will still not always disrupt the throw. In some situations it could count as hurry. But a missed sack should not count as a hurry every single time

Why wouldn't it? Imagine a 300 lb 6 foot something DT/DE running at you, and you just barely slip out of their grasp?
I know dotball =/= real football. But come on....

-1 mainly since it would lead to exploitative builds with zero tackling/strength that could still scare a QB. its bad enough that just lining up to blitz worries the QB (!)
its fine how it is... the blitzer needs to be a credible tackling risk and the QBs confidence plays a big role. Big Ben types can shoo away would-be sacks all day and not feel hurried to find a receiver.

even if it was a diving tackle and the tackler is now lying on the ground and is no threat at all?
there's some merit to the suggestion, but too many loopholes.

fogie, what do you consider a hurry? Isn't a hurry getting pressure on the quarterback? Pretty sure getting your hands on him would be pressure, and therefore a hurry. If a DB goes for an interception, but fails(still making contact with the ball), it's still a pass deflection, right?
