How can you make a receiver out of a power TE if vision isnt even a minor? Or a blocker for that matter?

Is Vision not important for Faking? With speed as a minor a Power TE is not going to get loose on separation much. Has to have Catch Fake or Juke as a bonus SA amiright?

But will that fire with a crummy Vision? Can he catch with a crummy vision?

And as a blocker how can he pick up rushers with a crummy vision?

Is Bort telling us that Vision doesn't really matter? Or that Power TE archetype is for suckers?

You know scramble QB has no ALG on stamina?
Does it mean stamina not matter?

I just havent built a power TE before and its dawning on me it sucks.

It means one of two things: If he had vision as an ALG, he'd be overpowered or the other attributes that get ALGs on that build are more important. Choose one option and build accordingly.

If you are building a power TE for receiving I wouldn't build him to get separation, I would build him to make the tough catch while covered and then bowl over his defender for extra yards, otherwise why not just build the receiving TE archetype?

Scat FB doesn't have strength or stamina as either.
Scat HB doesn't have strength
QBs dont have speed
RQB doesn't have stamina
rTE doesn't have jumping

et c.

This happens on quite a few Archtypes.

Power TE is not supposed to be faking; he bowls over people, thus that whole "power" thing.

And it doesn't matter who he can or can't see; he's plowing ahead, tacklers be damned.

But how the heck is he making the catch - even getting the throw - if he can not separate or dink aside to get open???

Just have to rely on single coverage or route cuts?

And, to clarify, part of my point is === Isn't Vision a component in the Make Catch roll???

uh there aren't too many TE's who merit double coverage on short routes dude (unless of course it's 3rd and medium/short?

Basically, the archetypes were created without much thought involved in the majors/minors process. Have to just deal with it.

I disagree. I think that if all archetypes had the most obvious majors and minors then most level 79s would virtually look identical ( even more than they do currently )

why are you guys implying the gains from a minor are substantially huge compared to those who don't get ALG's?

Different strokes and all. It is rather significant considering STA is something every dot needs.
