A team I have players on is way over the salary cap. I am talking:
Salary Cap Space Remaining:
$-1,107,280.00

Besides being negative, what other problems will this effect?

Once players have gone 3 days without pay they will be able to release themselves.

The obvious is that you pay the amount you're over to the other teams in your league (a luxury tax).

so long as the team has the cash on hand to pay all the salaries plus the luxury tax, its fine-
but the problem as i see it is that the team's stadium is puny; yr gonna want to be putting big $ into that,
which yr not gonna have as much of after paying off all that loot

I'd get off that team in a hurry. The owner has no idea how to manage his cash, which is usually a good sign that he has no idea how to manage anything else either.

well, im assuming he just bought the team and the why the stadium so small...
i would give him the chance {and advice) to learn if that was the case

If it's the team I think it is, though, that roster is a mess. And if he's overpaying all of his players instead of pouring money into his stadium, I don't think that team's prospects are very good at all.

I'll leave it at that, I guess.

He did just buy the team and is offering big money to get players. Joined because other team players were on went CPU. Will finish season and then high tail it out. Still getting paid everyday, 11 mil team cash.

actually, the first season i bought a team i did much the same-
i overpaid to get the players we wanted- but i got EXACTLY who we wanted,
and we won the title. at that point it was easy to convince everyone to stay with the team,
even at a bit less salary {altho we sill made sure our guys all were ove thier desired salaries...)

if by the seasons end this guy has it together, itll be obvious. if not, then too.
the decision will probably take care of itself.

the team wont run out of money, unless he goes and spends big$ on huge promotions.
but you will need a strong season to make any money to put into the stadium.
a title will definitely do that for you. it can be done... i actually did it without really knowing what it was lol

but, IMO the best way to do it is to start from scratch with a rookie team.
that way, you dont end up rueing the idiot of an ex-owner who left u with no stadium,
while the rest of the league is banging. its a tough disadvantage to have to build up yr stadium,
when the competition got a big head start.
