I recently decided to attempt to OC a regular league team rather then the Pee Wee teams and I realize that my OAI is basically useless in regular leagues and was wondering if anyone had as updated guide

How is your OAI useless? Is Pee Wee really that different?

Honestly confused here.

It is more so that you can do alot more in the regular leagues now that you actually have stats.

I know some people have some really advanced offenses out there and mine in Pee wee isn't very advanced.

Just wondering if anyone had a guide on the best way to construct an OAI from scratch

On Pee-Wee, advanced is not a word.

Is this for a Rookie team, or something higher up?

I think people tend to make offense more complicated than it needs to be, actually. A simpler AI may actually be just fine.

Try running a game or two with your Pee Wee AI and see what happens. Then make adjustments as-needed.

I attempted that, (It is a pacific pro team)

lost 60+-0 and 43-0

I am wanting to scrap out my AI and make a new one (maybe even do so for my pee wee team aswell)

Scout Scout Scout.

Make packages play scrims, toss out the plays that don't work and play with the depth chart. Find your strengths for the team and go with them. nothing time won't fix if you put in the effort.

what is the best outlook for the OAI, (ex. some people go with 1st long, 1st medium, 1st short, but I have also seen teams that go with something like: own 10, own 20, own 30.)

It just depends on how you like to approach the game. The trick here is to try different approaches and use the one you are most comfortable with. Some keep it simple, some like to get very detailed.

Damn, jumping straight from Pee Wee to Pacific Pro? You're a brave man... foolish, but brave.

Hmm... are you talking about Watha? Might be roster issues there more than anything, actually. In your league, your team's Player Value is ranked 26 out of 32 teams.

I also did a quick scout on Watha's first regular season game... not sure if you OC'd that game or not, but I see a lot of questionable play-calls in there, especially FB runs and FB screens, plays that are VERY difficult to use effectively at the Pro level.

So, I don't think the problem is really your AI, unless you're calling plays directly from your AI rather than using packages. Play-calling and roster issues are the real problems.

ok, next question, as I am not 100% sure how this works...

For choosing which player goes into the play in a package...

QB
QB1
QB2

is QB the first in the line up, QB1 second in the line up and QB2 third in the line up?

What works on your own 20 and your own 30 will work anywhere on the field. Field position really doesn't come into play until the red zone.

MY AI is something like this:

1st/2nd downs from own 10 to opponent 10:
20% passes (package of mixed pass plays)
20% inside elusive back (package of mixed inside runs)
20% outside elusive back (package of mixed outside runs)
20% QB runs (mix of QB runs)
20% PwHB plays (mix of PwHb plays)

3rd and short (package of specif plays-based on scouting opponent)
3rd and medium (package of mixed pass plays for specific yards)
3rd and long (package of mixed pass plays for specific yards)

Then there are more detailed things for when your losing or when inside the 5 yd line and so on.

You scout and adjust the plays within the packages.

You decide. If your passing QB is in the QB1 spot than you choose QB1 in your package. If your passing QB is the QB2 than you choose QB2 in your package.

You decide

then what is the QB slot?
